My Humidor is around 85% is this any good? Or should it be lower? If so How would I make it lower?
Thanks,
Jeff

Are you using an analog or digital hygrometer? If you are using an analog, throw it out and get a digital.

ya it's analog. Where can I get a digital one? The humidifier seems cheap to.

Jeffrow,

All three of my humi's are between 65 and 68%. Temp in the room stays close to 70.

My suggestion would be to do a search on this forum for terms relating to humidification, humidors, etc. There have been several threads on the subjects and all of the brain trusts on this forum have posted suggestions and guidelines.

Everybody here's got it right, and Bobberrific is smart for keeping it simple. You don't have to go "Rolex" or "world class" to keep cigars well. If your humidor really is at 85% right now, then it's close to raining in there, all over your cigars. If you live in the Northeast, that's not all that unusual at this time of year. But just to be on the safe side, get yourself a digital, and don't forget to do "the hygrometer salt test" before placing it in operation. As for the humidity level remaining high, even keeping it open in the Northeast at this time of year might not bring the humidity down. In some cases, it could go up. :dunno:

I am wondering if this Heartfelt site is the replacement for the old Climaxx ? The products do not look like the ones from climaxx. I am going to have to try these guys.
Bkelm18, how was the service from that site ?

Tom

The product works great and shipping was prompt. They ship via USPS. So it's not the fastest but it didn't take more than a few days for it to get here. I wouldn't mind doing business with them again.

ok, I will order some today. How long are you guys going to be inport ? The traffic sure sucks with 4 big boys in port at the same time. I work at MARMC in bldg LF-18.

From what I hear, til the end of the year. Then we do some sea trials and probably another maintenance period.

it really ought to be illeagle to sell humidors with those analoge hygrometers. a humidor shouldnt be used without a hygrometer, so they sell you a deffective product if the important part of a humidor never works.

Yeah, we need Bill O'Reilly on the case. The No Spin Truth About Analog Hygrometers. :cryinlaugh:

bkelm,
How long do those beads last? Just wondering how often I would have to change them.

How many and what size of those tubes from Heartfelt would I need for a 120 count desktop humi. Any info. would be great. Thanks.

Ahhh, now I see, its right there in the description. Thanks for the quick reply too.

Man you guys were right. I just got the digital hygrometer in the mail. My humidor RH is at 69%. I the analog one still says 83%. No more worring. Thanks guys
