OK soo, the time has come for a humidor...please hold your appluase

i hate to bring this up on a cigar.com forum, however, cigars international has 2 deals hat are very appealing to me

they offer a deal with 30, 5 vegas cigars and a nice looking 100ct humidor

also cao is offering a 100 ct humidor when you buy a box of the cao blacks

im really stuck in a bind and any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

don't know bout the humi's but luv those vegas never had a cao black i think

may want to ck out cheaphumidors.com also

how much for each? ebay is the place for me to get humidors on the cheap. ive gotten 2 and am very happy with them. but if you get a good enough deal with a bunch of sticks then great!

I got the CAO Black humidor and cigar offer for Christmas - I have to say it is a very good quality humidor. For only $130 or so you get 20 CAO Black Mosaic and a 100ct humidor - definitely worth it.

I got the 5 vegas and its a really nice humi. Alot bigger and better than I ever thought it was gonna be. We'll worth the money, & you get some great sticks to try. I love CAO but I'm not to keen on the "Black" brand. To mild for me.

ok, so i went with the 5 vegas, does anyone have any tips/advice on how to set the thing up properly

it has an analog hygrometer in it, should i buy an analog?
how to i calibrate the analog if i can stay with that?

what else do i need with this?

Ditch the analog and get a digital hygrometer. Got mine at Wal-mart.

When I set up my humi I put in the little puck humidifier in addition to a bowl with a sponge soaked in distilled water. Left it that way for a few days until the RH was reading about 67% and was steady. Then I removed the bowl and sponge and left it closed for a couple of days. Then added my cigars and it's been fairly steady between 64% and 67% since.

Don't get the cedar wet. Be patient and let it soak up the moisture from the humidifier.

There are beads and packs and oasis to regulate the RH. It's your choice what to use. There are several threads on the forum dealing with humidity and setting up a humidor.

Good luck.

go to radio shack and buy one of the wireless remote sensors. they are white and say 433 mhz on them. they are meant to be used with a base that gathers the readings from all the sensors but the sensors themselves have displays on them. they are not bad for 15 bucks! you can get the kit for 50 bucks that comes with the base and a remote sensor. with the base you can take advantage of max/min recordings on the remote sensors. ive got the base and 3 remotes one for each of my humidors.

James- Mee too!!! LUV those things. Sitting at my deskand I can see the levels on all my humis without having to open them.

Very clever. I may have to make a trip over there.
