Armpit of the world....Al Asad, Iraq
I got my new humi today!

I'm doing the salt test on the hygromter (even though I have a digi for it) before I plug in the Oasis and get it seasoned. By the way, where is the best place to put the Oasis at in the humi?

Here are some pics.
Don't get excited, those boxes are empty. I just wanted to get an idea of how big it is inside.

The only problem is I don't think that it has a good enough seal on it's doors or the top. So I need some advice from the veterans of the board. Does the bead seal stem from being a new humidor?
Will the wood swell when it's humidified and give me a better seal?
If not, what should I do to fix the problem so that I don't lose humidity when I put the cigars in?

Help me out friends!

Sweet Humi, Brother! sorry I can't give you any advice about the seal though

Yeah, it almost took an act of Congress to get my wife to allow me the purchase!

At least it will clear up the shelves a bit when I sell my smaller humis!

Very nice Jeff! I am actually looking for something similar. I have no idea about the seal.

If the seal is indeed bad, I would try some neoprene rubber or very thin weatherstripping. Too much and it could throw the hinge out of whack.

That is one nice humi my friend. I especially like the upper compartment since a lot are only big enough to store churchills one way. Looks like you can arrange things anyway you want.

DD, I have to say it again. That is one nice humidor. Your pictures make me want to have one like that even more.

I've used weather stripping to seal humidors before.
It is a foam tape that has a strip of paper on one side that peals off to
expose a stick/tape.

Have you thought od contacting the company and demanding one
that has a better seal?
or is that just how they are built?
CC

Great looking hunk of wood, BUT< do you think its BIG ENOUGH ? hahaha Congtats !!

Enjoy, Vince

Nice piece Jeff!!! I agree with CC and the previous comments, call for another if possible, and I like the top compartment allot!!!

Good luck with it..

Paul

Vince is right. Another couple of years, and Sgt. DevilDog may be wondering if it really is big enough. Ahhhh, from multiple desk tops to multiple cabinets. :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh:

DD, I have a cabinet that is similar. Do you have a lock on it? If so, that should help with the seal. If not, maybe season it and let it sit empty for about a week (I know, very difficult) and see if the seal is better once it is humidified.

Jeff: Woowww-zer!

Nice one dood! Did you get one that large so you can store more sticks to send me?

Sa-weeeeet!

 Very nice! I want to get one like that when I get a better paying job.
