New kid here, started few months ago. Site is great. So what is the worth of your cigars in your humidor NOW!!

cash value? my small humi has well over $400 in it. but thats only a 20 ct and has all of my "good" cigars in it. (by "good" i mean "expensive")

the big one? iduno

... dont care either.

the value is in how good they taste while on fire.

ps. welcome aboard!

i kinda like to remember stuff like this. right now i have
-rocky patel sungrown
-Hoyo de Monterrey dark sumatra
-Onyx reserve
-Ramon Allones
-Le Hoyo de Diuex (BEST SMELLING CIGAR I ENCOUNTERED)

= less than 30 usd but Singapore dollars is 100+ which include shipping fee, tobacco tax, rate conversion

VERY expensive hobby in Singapore

But recently smoked
-Diplomaticos No.3
-Bolivar petit coronas
-Diplomaticos No.2
-Partagas Serie P No.2(REALLY NICE SMOKE)
-Partagas Serie D No.4
-Flor De Olivar toro(got from cigar.com)

Total damage=$250+

I agree with Matt I do not want to know it might make me reconsider. If it tastes good smoke it! If you stay on these boards for any length of time you will will increse the size of your humi and fill it :D :D :D

I haven't taken a count in a long time let alone add up the cost , at an all time high I had about 11K sticks , with an average price of 5 bucks a stick, , but I had some real rare & really old pre embargo Cubans & first issue Opus X , that I sold off before I had some surgery a few years ago , paid off the house with that sale, now I dont even keep track of what I have at home, I think there are 11 humidors with cigars in them & a few empties Not counting the boxes , just loose sticks , I have a few hundred sticks, & some sealed boxes about 25 or 26 total, maybe more , maybe less, a few hunderd sticks more of dubious origin But I am sure you know where I am talking about , Value , who knows cant insure all of them, but If I did sell them all again I might be able to pick up a nice car or truck , BUT why would I want to get rid of them, , they are worth more to me than the cash, when you get older & understand the pleasue it brings , you stop thinking about money & what it is worth , just enjoy what you have ,smoke what you like , dont worry about the ratings in the books & price in the shops, smoke what you like , I do start off my day with a fine Don Carlos #3 , but if I find a better morning smoke that is cheeper or more expencive , NO matter, if I like it I will smoke it maybe not every day , I am not David Letterman with a 500 dollar a day Cuban Cigar habbit , BUT I sure would like to have that kind of cash flow & the cigars he smokes in a year hahahaha
Enjoy, Vince

I'm a relative newbie, and only have a box fulla singles. And that's probably close to $200. Not counting the $40 I just spent online :)

I've spent more on video games that give me less pleasure. So I'll gladly backup the others in saying that a smokes value is in the joy you get from it.

I kinda know how you feel man. When i smoked a Diplomaticos No.2, i didnt care how much its worth, just how good the cigar was. Me my cigar and mother nature. Felt so right.

I used to keep track of the cost of my cigars but I learned very quickly that's not such a good idea.

Don't even mention a *%$# humidor to me. It's been so dry in the house this winter I've actually taken to putting my several small humidors into big zip-lock freezer bags with plenty of humidifier medium inside. Plus, a bundle of Ghurka Extra Fuente (big 'gars) arrived already crunchy. I'm not sure I can save them with my limited equipment. Anyway, I guess I'm saying the value of my cigars at this point is basically doodly squat.

1200 count humidor 500 bucks.
Cigar oasis to keep your sticks fresh 90 bucks.
Countless boxes and singles to fill your humi more then I thought.
A internet connection so you can hang out on Amback with the best group of guys and gal 29.00 a month.

Being able to reach into your humi pull out a great smoke leaning back in your easy chair and lighting it bringing on the wave of gratification that is unequaled elsewhere PRICELESS..

I'd say roughly $2500 in the cigars themselves. How much I've spent on the entire lifestyle I don't even want to think about.

We'd be glad to help you!!!

Help me what - smoke these crunchy dog sticks? I don't think you want to go there. I got a new shipment the other week of Indian Tabac and they were very moist. So moist, in fact, that I have to take one out at least 12 hours before smoking it. The humidor they are in must seal a little tighter because I never have trouble with dryness. It's also not in the air path from a heat register like the one that's now inside the freezer bag. We'll soon see how that works to re-humidify crunchers - it's been a week now.

Your best course of action for both the dry sticks and the overly humidified sticks is to give them time to acclimate to the correct rH. As long as your humidor is at the proper rH (most here prefer65% to 70%) and doesn't have swings in rH you should be good. then I would just give them 2 months to rest and restore a proper balance. With all of my sticks I get (be it online or from a B&M) I let them rest at least a month before I start to smoke them. Patience is tough, but well worth it to truely enjoy your sticks.
