Anyone have any interest in doing a Myrtle Beach Golf/Cigar Smoking Trip sometime next spring? I try and get down with some buddies every year. Very cigar friendly(at least it was last year) fairly inexpensive and great golfing, dining, nightspots etc. I've gone down with groups of just 4 guys and groups up to 24 guys. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone has any interest. Could be a real fun time!!

We usually go in late March or early April. Weather at that time of year is usually very nice. 70's and 80's. I've had very few bad days and only once been unable to play(heavy rains). The great thing about Myrtle is that there are literally about 100 courses within an hour and many are close or you can stay at. We stayed at Barefoot Landing last time down - 4 courses on property(Fazio, Dye, Love & Norman courses.) Nice condos right there on the property. It's nice as you don't have to drive anywhere except to go to dinner and to the clubs. I figure if there is any one interested, we have a full 9-10 months to clear schedules to do a 3-4 day trip.

I will try and make it. At my last job, we had a group go every spring and it was a blast. Haven't been in 7 years and I think I am due.

Sounds good. Hopefully, we'll have more fellow brothers want to go. Figured I'd throw it out there now, so there would be plenty of time to try and organize. It would be great to have 12 or 16 BOTL's there and really have a good time.

I just started playing golf this week, but hopefully by Spring, the ball will at least kinda sorta go the way I want it to. And even if it doesn't, if there's booze and cigars involved, it sounds like a plan to me. I'm in Charleston, so it's a couple hours up the road to me.

That's great!! Who said anything about booze, though? HaHaHa, I crack myself up. This could be a really good time. How about some more brothers out there? Doesn't a few days away from the wife, kids, or girlfriend sound pretty good? Lots of golf, cigars, booze and plenty of laughs and camaraderie.

I MIGHT be able to be pursuaded, but if we are taking the golf seriously......I'd be out!!!
Smoking, eating, and HACKING around a golf course, I'm down with...

Sounds good to me. I'm a hack. Hey Rob; maybe we could just get liquored up and play bumper cars with the carts.

Allright, this is starting to pick up a little steam. I used to be serious about my golf game when I was younger. Now, I worry more about my cigar than my game. All's I'd like to do is play a lot of golf, smoke a lot of cigars, drink my share and have a good time and(maybe uhh... go to a Gentleman's Club or three). I will call around in the next few days in Myrtle Beach and put up some proposed dates, prices, etc for everyone to look at.

Rob, you gotta have a vehicle on the lot that we can tow it with! You get the tow and I will supply the smokes.......deal?

Hey Brothers,

I made a few phone calls today to a few of the golf package places down in Myrtle. The rates for next spring are not out yet, but ballpark would be $300-500.00 depending on where staying and courses played. For $300.00 you can get 3 night and 3 courses(one a premium course), accomodations(2 BR condo with kitchen etc), buffet breakfast and carts. For about $500.00 you can stay at a nicer resort(Barefoot or comparable), nicer courses, condo and breakfast. I checked for March dates. Prices go up a little ($30-50) in April and more in May. Just throwing it out there.

That's a great idea, Rob. I just did a quick check and you can rent houses from the oceanfront to a few rows back. I found anywhere from 6- 20 people accomodated and pricing in March from $500 - $2000 and up. Get 8-12 guys and get a nice house to use as a base for $100-$150 each. Not a bad idea.

Though I'm NOT sleeping with Kev......

We'd just have to try to get places not far from each other, you know localized... What part of town do you typically stay in?

I have stayed all over- once up in N Myrtle near the Tidewater GC, 2 times in I'd say central MB at a hotel and once in west MB at Avalon GC(4 courses). Pluses and minuses to all of them!
