in the box or out

I just made the plunge and went from a small desktop 100ct to a much larger 300ct humidor. I have tons of space now, and the bottom looks like it could hold a few boxes. Any thoughts, if its better to take cigars out of the boxes I buy, or just leave them in the box and put the whole thing in the bottom

I always keep my cigars in the box - if I have enough of them.
But I also have plenty of storage space.

In the box. It protects them while I am rummaging through my humidor to look for something.

Next question: Leave the boxes sealed and closed or open them occasionaly?

i read for long term storage to crack them open once in a while. But to store them a couple of months dont worry about it.

Sealed, to the degree they come to you. They made it thus far without going bad.

Sealed. I had a bad experience with a c10 box being too airtight with all the paint on it, but that was the only time.

In the box only to protect them but unsealed because I what the cigars to be at my RH and what not. Aslo because I love to open them and get one out and look at them. Almost brings a tear to m eye to see them all lined up in a row ready for me to smoke.

hey thanks for the advice guys, it would get a little crazy if i just stacked free cigars in the bottom, this new humidor has tons of space. i've been buying more and more to try and fill it.

My rule of thumb is they stay in the box until 3/4 of the box is gone, then the remainder go into a desktop.

Agreed, if you only have about five left in the box, time to move them to single storage.
