Ok this seems weird to me I keep my cooler in the basement b/c it is cooler their in the summer. I try to keep the humidity around 67-68% to obtain this I have had to remove my humidity source.... its been out for more than a month, i open the cooler very often to check and stay around 68%. HOW? I have 2 desk tops down their now and they both have the beads as humidity source and I have to keep it in the humidors to maintain the humidity.

Sorry to be so long winded
thanks

I left out the hydrometer and it stayed around 73-75% and around 68* Ive salt tested them often and always really accurate

It seems to me that the beads are doing their job, keeping the humidity just where you want it to be. Not sure I understand what the issue is.

thats just it, the cooler does not have the beads in it for over a month now

here is my thought:

1) summer is here. The RH of the general world is up a bit from the summer. When you open the door to it there is less of a swing in RH because all the moisture doesnt go rushing out. (less airborn osmosis?)
2) The fridgador is even more air tight than a humidor when closed and since cigars are hygroscopic and hold their own humidity they will help regulate it in there. ...this is also why a full humidor keeps better RH than an empty one.

those two factors working together is probably it.

...i think
