I just received my new humi, a 50 count, It came with a slightly used Diamond Crown Humidifier, cant get much info on this one. It says on the site just to fill it will distilled water and let it go, when its low refill it. For the first fill should I fill it with 50/50 and then after that fill it with distilled water and every maybe like 4 or 5 times fill it again with 50/50 kinda lost here.
Thanks,
Mike

Diamond Crown units are nice. Pricey though. Most sponge based humidifiers will be at optimal output once you refill them. At that point you watch your humidor go down slowly before you refill it again. Diamond Crown revolutionized humidifiers a bit by putting a spunge on either side that is fed by tubes that come from a reservoir in the middle. The result is that it feeds constant moisture to the sponges and is excellent for mainting consistency. That said, older units are notorious for leaks so first fill it and make sure you are not leaking. It will ruin your cigars. After that I would recommend using 50/50 on your first fill and then distiled water each fill after that and swap in some 50/50 every sixth fill.

Alright, thank you Alex.
I would have never thought to check for leaks. I cant wait to get this up and going and filling my humi.

Thanks,
Mike
