I picked up a Hydra Electronic Humidifier and I'm curious where some suggested places to put it in a cabinet humdior. Top? Bottom? Middle? I'm using it with some beads as well.

From what i understand it would be best to place the humidifier on the bottom and the beads at the top. I belive the humidity collects more at the top. Im sure others will chim in and give better explanations.

How big is your humidor?
Mine sues fans to keep the RH even.
As for humidty it settle to the bottom - but the advise was good.
Beads at top & unit at the bottom.
That said - you might not need beads - depends on the humi size.

It's a cabinet humidor humidor, 28 X 23 X 15. It's been holding the humidity well but the Hydra Humidifier seems like it's always running.

It should not be running all the time????

How many days????

Have you checked the seal???

At that size - just put it in the bottom back corner.

Not constantly but it will turn on once every mintue or so and run for about 10 seconds. The humidor is well sealed I think, I am thinking about putting weather stripping around the front doors. As for the Hydra being sealed...I snapped the top and bottom into place and the two lines on the left side are aligned.

How long did you season the cabinet? Is it new?

It's a new Trivoli cabinet from Tampa Humidor and I seasoned it for ten or eleven days. Also it's dry here, ranges from 35% and down. Freggen cold winter.

I'd be checking the seal on the door -
It could be something as simple as this.
I'm saying this because it seems to be running to often!
In my big humidor I put a bunch of beads during the winter to keep from filling it to often. It doesn't run more than once a day.
RH is dry here right now.

Thankfully you are keeping the RH high enough to keep the cigars safe.
I'm guessing you have done your salt test & the cigars are right for smoking???????

Yep, salt test done to two digital hydrometers. I guess if all else fails at least the the humdity is holding.

I removed the additional fan from the Hydra and that seems to have worked I'm guessing. Now it only runs once in a few minutes. I was trying different placements with it and found that if the fan is anywhere near the main unit it screw it up (I know, I know, no Duh )

As for checking the seals, any good suggestions?
