Newbie looking for recomendations

I've just recently started with cigars. I've only tried a few and am looking for some good recommendations from someone who knows a bit more than I do. . . ignorance can be cured and I'm looking for a cure

Heres what I've tried and what I thought of them:

Joya De Nicaragua Antano:
Light taste, not an easy draw, burn wasn't very even (but was smoking in a high wind).
I wasn't particularly impressed.

Gran Habano Connecticut #1
Very light flavor. Began to fall apart during the last third. It appeared that the band was covering defects in the wrapper.

H. Upmann Petit Corona
So far this has been one of my favorites. I only have a few left so am saving them for special times. Wish I'd got more.

Montecristo #4
Smoked well, but not as flavorful as I expected. I only have a few of these left also and am saving/aging them for special times.

Montecristo #3
This one was better than the #4. It was slightly stronger and more flavorful. This one was not a habano.

Macanudo (ring 44, 6.5 length)
For a cheap cigar I liked it. Lighter than the Upmann, stronger than the Montecristo.

Tatuaje (Red band w/ florentines)
I don't know where this cigar came from. Was hard to get lit, but burned well up to the end. Good taste.

Bolivar
Very mild at first, but got rapidly stronger and more flavorful. Was pretty good.

Macanudo Court tubo
These are small and cheap. But they are good for a quick smoke.

San Cristobal (might have been the Gaujiro)
This had a very dark wrapper. It was one of the best cigars I've had. I really enjoyed this one. I smoked it while trying to study and I kept ignoring my homework and enjoying the cigar.

This sums up what I've had to date. Any suggestions on what I should try next. I look at the cigar shop's humi and don't know where to start. I picked up a few the girl recommended when I bought a humidor. That's where all but the Montecristo #4 and the H. Upmann Petit Coronas came from.

I only smoke a few sticks a week at most. I just don't have the time to enjoy one properly that often (Family, work, school, and life in general just seem to keep interfering with the thing's I'd like to do). If your suggestion is on the pricey side, please give a ballpark figure on what it should cost.

Thanks in advance

Re: Newbie looking for recomendations

I would go for the Gran Habano #5 it is a Corojo Wraper that will pack a nice spicy punch.

Padron aniversery maduro (PAM). AWESOME somke.

Onyx Mini Belicoso.

I would stay away from Mac's just not to much flavor there.

I use to recomend the CUsano and such for a "new" smoker but I am not buying in to the lighter is better any more.

Re: Newbie looking for recomendations

I still enjoy a Cusano 18 everyy now and again they are not strong but have good flavors. I have also had a couple Vegas Cubanas by Pepin. I really enjoyed both of those. I find a Hemingway a good smoke that burns well with good condtruction but not that complex. For a nice complex smoke I like the Ashton VSG, still my favorite but I am fairly new at this too.

ACID by Drew Estate. I haven't smoked every cigar in the ACID line but from what I have smoked I have only come across 1 that I didn't care for (Etraordinary Larry.) I highly reccomend any ACID with a blue band. Also if you enjoy coffee flavored drinks (n/a or alcoholic) The Isla del Sol and Java lines are good too. Just personal prefferances. Hope this helps!

A couple of weeks ago I received some Dominican Bolivars with the Cofradia with the Sumatra Wrapper, and found them to be a very pleasant smoke. If your B&M has them, give them a try.

When you buy the cigars online, there is no question of limited stock, unavailability of the brand, high prices and taxes. As buying cigars online, gives you the opportunity of enjoying great discounts as they are tax and duty free.

Buying cigars on line is OK at times when the sales are great savings, like buy 1 get one ,,,,, I Support the local Brick & mortor shops,,, they have a nice lounge to sit & smoke, converse, & have a good time, & you can Learn a lot by sitting, listening & asking questions...... if your local shop is out of something you want try some thing they have ..... keep the cash in your area, help the local little guy, God Knowns the government has thier hands in the cash regester & are fighting to get into the humidor & outlaw walk in humidors, BS ! .... but I digress, a great smoke for a new smoker IMO is the Fuente 858 natural wrap, not to big, not to strong, but a nice natural tobacco flavor.
Enjoy, Vince

agree with you, @vince... I mostly prefer to buy online from 2000Cigars, because any time when holidays come they always have a certain period of time when there are discounts on all products. it is a great saving of time and money, isn't it?
