Am I Smoking Anything Good?

Guys I have had a few cigars over the years but am now trying at least 1 stick a day. I have been ordering Sampler Packs for the last year from various places in the US. I am in Canada. I have found a few cigars that I really liked. The sort that you wish there was another 10 min's in them and a few that I was glad to see then end. So if I were to make a post of the cigars that I smoked last week would anyone like to critique the list for me? I am just wondering if I am smoking crap or not.

As a point of interest I liked the Ortega Wild Bill and the Oliva Master Blend Liga Mastra.

Also I am limited to the places that I can order from due to some places not shipping to Canada.

Not sure if any of have the same exact palate, so what you like may be different than what someone else does. I would be glad to critique your list of smokes, but you would have to keep in mind that it is just one guy's opinion. Never smoked either of the 2 cigars you mentioned - but I would guess the Oliva MB would be one I would like.

Sorry for the delay, I just got back from a 3 day fishing trip. Just as a point of interest the fish won this weekend.

First I had a Camacho Original Corojo American barrel Aged 6 years.
Aging Room small batch F55
Gurkha Ghost
COA Brazilia and Italia
My Cuban Wheel no.11
Cohiba Nicaragua (black label)
Don Pepin Garcia Original (blue label)
Don Pepin Garcia (cream colored label)
Rocky Patel..... Hercules......Vintage 2005 Cameroon.....vintage 1995....vintage 1992.....Seventeen..... Sungrown
Alec Bradley Tempest natural
A.J. Fernandes New World (box pressed)
A. Flores 1975 Gran reservia with cedar

I can not say that I liked each and every one of these sticks but they are what I have smoked in the last week and a half or so. I have about 125 cigars in my humidor. Remember that since I am in Canada these all cost me a bit more than they cost for Americans due to exchange rate and shipping. I just ordered 20 pack of the Oliva Master Blend 3 from Atlantic Cigars in Penn. List price was about 66$ + shipping for a total of just over 100 US. By the time the visa bill comes in it will be about 130 CDN $. Having said that any of the cigars listed above would cost 15- 20 $ CDN if purchased in my city.

Thanks in advance
Dave

The first four I have heard reasonable good things about.
The My Cuban Wheel - I have never heard of it
Cohibas N/C are not my type of cigar - not bad tho
Don Pepin I have heard good things about the blue and have a few that I have yet to smoke. The Cream label I'm not familiar with unless it's the legado de Pepin- which did nothing to impress me.
Rocky Patel usually makes a smokeable cigar except for the cheaper ones - nothing of his has impressed me yet.
AB Tempest- never tried one- heard some had issues with burn or construction. I have mostly stayed away from AB.
Fernandez New World is relatively new and may be a pretty decent cigar.
A Flores should be a pretty good cigar, I've recently smoked a couple of his AFR 75 San Andres Maduro Sublime label and they were quite good. Also liked many of the Flores&Rodriguez line and have quite a few in stock.

Sorry I couldn't tell you more. Which ones did you like ? I had dinner with a Dave and his Mrs. from Canada in Cancun about 15 years ago - I think he was an electrical engineer.(but the world is not that small). I pay less for cigars but I think you guys up north get a better deal on pharmaceuticals. I will pay no more than $ 7 for a cigar and rarely do that.

To tell the truth not any of those cigars was what I would call really good. But that is taking into consideration my own preferences. What I remember about the first 4 is the Gurkha Ghost and the smoke it gave off even when sitting. Sort of glad I was outside. The Aging room F55 was a quarto and was pretty smooth to smoke. The COA Brazillia was a hard smoke in that I had to double puff to get smoke from it at all. To tell the truth a 10 pack that I started with I have given away 2 and smoked 2 since getting them. I was wrong about the Italia it is still in the humidor. Yes there were burn issues with the AB Tempest and it had to be repaired twice. The A Flores I liked but not enough to want a whole box of them. All of the others listed were just a regular smoke to me. The Don Pepin Garcia with the cream colored label was a JJ Maduro.

Yes you are right about the pharmaceuticals and they are free after age 65 and I do not have to stop at the billing dept. as I leave the hospital. That is why I pay about a buck an ounce when I leave the liquor store also. No the world is not that small I have never been to Cancun.

Not much I can really say as to what would be a good cigar for you. All of us have different palates and some are similar, but I can't see what your particular taste might be. You can legally buy Cubans (and hopefully the real ones), so you might want to try some of them. There are a lot of Aging Room varieties out there and since you liked one, perhaps you should try some others.
