This is a copy of a review I posted on HCF. I would like to share it with everyone who does not visit there.

This review was split between two nights; Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday
'01 SCDLH El Principe
4.29X42
Appearance colorado colored wrapper with little to no vein and a nice triple cap. Slightly firm to the touch
Pre light aroma was of cedar as well as the pre light draw.
First 3rd: floral and herbal and quite subtle and very mild, a little dusty on the finish. This is the most mild cuban cigar that I have ever had. The taste is so subtle that it is almost non existent. The burn is very good and the draw is nice and easy producing lots of smoke. There is a slight tingle in my mouth.
2nd Third: the body is picking up a bit but it is still fairly muted. I have to say that though I am getting a lot of smoke, I have to really concentrate to pick up the flavors.
Last 3rd, the body picks up more and there is a slight sweetness building up. Like cinnamon toast. Still a mild smoke but more body and flavor than the first 2 thirds. The burn did not need a single retouch the entire time I smoked this cigar.
Overall; not what I was expecting. A real mild cigar which is not my cup of tea. there was nothing wrong with this cigar; just needed more flavor.

Appearance; very firm to the touch and a light oily sheen to it. Colorado wrapper just like the '01 , but with couple of green spots and with a couple of small veins. The tripe cap looked exactly the same as the '01. Pre light draw was of young tobacco and woodsy. The draw was kinda tight; even after I let it sit out all day to loosen up. I did not need to do this for the '01.
1st Third:
Much more flavor right off the bat. Woodsy and nuts start it off with a light body, but much more than the '01. Started off a little green, but this disappeared shortly into the cigar.
2nd Third; More body and a growing complexity. It changes from puff to puff in and out of the nuttiness and getting a winter spice sweetness to it. This was the most fun part of the cigar. The burn is not too even. I am trying to get it to burn even with re touches, but it keep getting uneven. The draw gets tighter as I go along and I get a tooth pick to open it up a bit.
The last third: More sweetness but by this point I am fighting with it more and it begins to tunnel. I'm not even paying attention to the flavor, just trying to get it to burn right and have a better draw. As the burn approaches the band I give up and go inside. It was too much to fight with anymore.
Overall; much more flavor than the '01; but a hassle to keep up with.
