1997 Montecristo Especial #1.
Vitola: Gran Panatela
Size:7.5 x 38

The weather here was warm in Southern NJ, the thermometer was at 81 when I sat down this evening to smoke. I headed out to the front porch with a tall glass of water, and a rocks glass of Bacardi 8 with a single cube in it.
This cigar was beautifully constructed, a milk chocolate color wrapper that had a slight tooth to and a perfect pigtail cap. It was obvious that this cigar had been lovingly cared for since it's construction back in '97.
The pre-light flavor was a light cedary aroma with a hay-like twinge to it. It spoke volumes of the luxury that was to come. It lit beautifully, and the first puffs brought out more cedar with a toasty flavor as well.
The next third did not smack me in the face, the flavors present intensifed, with a little bit of creamy spice building up in the background.
The final third continued the trend, but the spice turning to a dark, cinnamon like note that lingered on the palate.

WHAT A SMOKE! This was, to me, an elegant smoke. In my minds eye, I see James Bond in Monaco at the Baccarat table puffing one of these. There is a dark haired lovely across the table from him, eyeing the smoke and sizing up her opponent...

5 smoke rings to be sure, I'm not sure I'm qualified to classify anything as 6 rings...
