After a terribly hot day, I smoked this fine cigar that Rodney sent me in a PIF. I had a bit of sun sickness today from doing yardwork in this crazy heat, but after dinner I felt much better and the lady & I headed outside to the swing on the uncovered patio after it got dark and cooled down a bit. This has been a bit of a ritual for us and I needed to relax with a good cigar. I've wanted to try this one since I first read about it, and it didn't disappoint. It started off creamy and nutty with a bit of spice. She even commented how it smelled a bit like clove or nutmeg. Unfortunately it didn't burn too well at first with a bit of a tunneling problem, and I wasn't able to get much smoke off the draw without taking several puffs at a time, which caused it to burn a bit hot and fast for the first half. The burn issues resolved about the halfway point, and the spiciness left in favor of hints of cocoa and black cherry ( I seem to get this from the good maduros I've smoked.) It also started burning cooler and slower. The last 3rd showed earthy tones with a bit of leather and return of the spiciness. I thoroughly enjoyed the latter half and will definitely buy some for the humi. I give it a rock solid 4 smoke rings, and it would have been 5 if not for the burning/draw problems. All in all tho, it was a great cigar to relax under the stars with.

Thanks Rodney, you made my day.

Just pulled the trigger on a 10 pack of these since they are a part of the Friday deal... Along with a 10 pack of the Maduro's as well. Hard to beat the price with the 10% COTM discount.

Looking forward to giving em a try.

Nice deal Trent. I think I might have to jump in on this one myself. It's an excellent cigar. I'm going to check out the special as soon as I catch up on the posts here.
