Hamilton's House Churchill. . . .

This is one of those "casualties of the boom" cigars and yes, it's linked to famous and heavily tanned movie actor George Hamilton.

I bought a box of these at phatash.com about a year ago, with shipping the cost was somewhere about $1.30-1.45 apiece, if I recall correctly.

I kept most of the box of 25 and passed a few out to friends. After smoking around ten of these, both right out of the box and at various stages of the aging process, I have long since come to the conclusion that some of these are excellent, and none of these are bad, although two or three were virtually tasteless.

I had not had one in quite a while, and it has now been about a full year since I bought the box, so I fished one out of Desk Top III reading at 72% humidity as of now, and lit it at 1612 hours this afternoon.

I lit this cigar while sipping W.L. Weller 12 year old bourbon, the original wheated bourbon, a fine treasure of an unbelievably low price tag, now on sale with a bunch of other fine items at samswine.com. The sale may not be evident when you enter the web site, but they are running a Sam's Warehouse Sale, and I have confirmed this with their sales department. I don't know how you'd get to the sale price since the web site is showing the regular prices, but trust me, when they run one of their sales, it's time to stock up on your favorite potent potables. I have ordered from them and alcoholreviews.com for a few years. Alcoholreviews.com has horrible prices regularly, but nice sale prices, and a huge selection.

Anyway, it didn't take me long to realize that the Hamilton's House Churchill I had chosen was not only one of the excellent ones, but perhaps the best of those that I've smoked so far. And a full year after purchase!!! You'd have thought that any flavor existent had long since been aged out.

Beautiful main flavors of licorice and vanilla extract, along with leather played on my palate until about the two thirds mark, when this light bodied, smooth but rich tasting Churchill turned to sweet earth, rich cream and smoky flavors until the very end at 1749 hours. Man, I've smoked some good cigars lately!!!

Ever have that happen, when every cigar you choose for a while just doesn't seem to be any good, and then during some stretches they all seem good? Go figure. I sure as heck can't, because I AM . . .

THE GREAT DUMBONI!!!

And there is no other.
