be quite pleasurable to walk along just about any stretch of turf enjoying a fhine, fhine, ptttttttttemium cigahhh, . . .

that is if one indeed is not in a typical "New York Minute" rush.

Such was the case on Monday morning, which found me running a few errands after leaving work a little early, and time for a cigar as I walked from 37th and 5th to 59th and Lex. to retrieve a disk from a friend with some work on it he needed done, yup, you guessed it, a resume update. That "economic recovery" hasn't hit here yet folks, we're still hurtin' in the NYC area, big time. Yeah, I know the stock market's doing great, but Joe and Jane Citizen aren't.

Anyway, after dropping off one friend's work and heading to the other's to pick up the disk, I lit a 5 Vegas double corona given to me by new member here Michaelsean, a box he sent awhile back. He has been one gentleman whose kindness and good vibes have been overwhelming me since meeting on "another web site" a few years ago.

These cigars were full flavored, medium bodied, great tasting right out of the box, and six to nine months of age, or whatever they've had in my possession has only improved them. Originally a little too spicy for me, the spice had mellowed nicely, and the result was a rich tasting, pleasant smoke every step of the way.

This particular cigar had been in my Havana Pocket Humidor for awhile, and although I still had a chill in my body from recent illness and injury, I knew the day was a lot nicer than my body was telling me, and the atmosphere on Fifth Avenue was peaceful. After lighting it I walked up Fifth Avenue, past Grand Central Terminal and onto Park Avenue, one of my favorite places to walk in the city, especially with a cigar.

Watching the tourists sightseeing and window shopping, and all the folks who were rushing to and fro in their daily routines of getting to work and getting their pre-work coffee and meals was a lot more fun with a nice tasting, relaxing cigar, and after seeing my friend, there were about 15 minutes of good smoking left. As I stood on the corner of 59th Street and Lexington Avenue, in one of the few spots where the sun can actually still shine down on the sidewalk in the morning in Manhattan, I was reminded of how fine this cigar really tastes. Throughout the length of it were flavors of rich creme brulee with a little bit of cayenne pepper and sweet earthy notes. From what I hear they ain't that expensive, either.

Give it a try, . . .

One of the best bangs for the buck out there. Can be had on cbid for $30-$35, and not much more ordering them. I just picked up a box of robustos myself.

WOW!!! THAT cheap?!?!?!??? I had no idea! At that price, they're a steal. Have to put those on my Must Buy list.
