im new to smoking cigars but highly enjoy them and glad i've got into it. i have a few friends also into cigars and we're trying to have get togethers and smoke cigars. the problem is getting enough people to join in. any1 have any ideas for a cigar club or in a cigar club urself.

little too far for me, it would take 6 or 8 cigars just to get there

im jus tryin to get a local cigar club between my friends but im not sure really how to run it and if i should offer them cigars or they bring there own or me jus sell them some. i wouldnt kno so if any1 has any kind of input im all eyes

thanks for ur input bloomington but another ?. do u think i should offer cigars at the get togethers or should people bring there own or sell a variety of cigars.

(i) Definitely offer cigars;
(ii) Definitely ask others to bring their own. They will experience the sharing of cigars, as well as be prompted to share their tastes and experiences;
(iii) If you don't mind going into the business end, by all means, sell some too. People will get an idea of what's in the market, and you might make some money to help with club expenses. Broken toilets cost money to fix. :sm_angel:

funny...lol...i like ur style bloomington. tell me...whats the best moment or experience u've had smoking a cigar. right now is definitely not 1 of mine as i smoke a piece of shit cuz its all i got.

cant wait till i get my cigars :lol:

Wow!!! That's a hard one. I've been smoking cigars for 8 1/2 years, and although I've only smoked about 1,000-1,500 cigars, it's hard to pick out a "best moment." I've had quite a few good moments, both indoors and out. I've also never smoked the same cigar twice in a row, or drank the same bourbon or rye twice in a row. That's the great thing about cigars. There's enough out there to get endless variety, and enough of what you like to wind up coming back to certain cigars as "mainstays" no matter what your tastes are.

And there are also those times when every cigar you smoke seems to taste lousy or have a bad draw. I had a period like that recently. :argh: :mrgreen:

My .02

One nice thing about the internet is doing cigar clubs.
If you set up to take tasting notes & find enough people you can buy an entire box ata time and save money.
I suggest each person gets 2 of any cigar - often there can be a bad stick here or there & it gives a better over-view.

It does take away from the getting together part, but much fun can be had in comparing how different people view the same cigar.
Just an idea?

That's the beauty of the internet. You could split a box with anybody. Guy that does the actual purchase usually gets the odd cigar. Cuz if I split a box of 25, I don't want 12 and then a half one. That would suck.

sounds easy enough, but sure would be nice to know the other person. ive been on site a month, and could leave that fast too. would you trust me?

I have no reason not to trust anyone here. I post on several boards, and there are very few jerks. As for folks here, I've only traded with Bloofington, and he is way too generous.

You just have to keep posting, and when everybody gets to know you, you'll never have a problem.

Or, as Jimmy Hoffa said, that famous American all-too-true saying:

"Sooner or later, everybody does business with everybody."

we should maybe put together a cigar pass. that would be a neasy way for everyone to get comfortable.

what other boards? been on one with arrogant, sarcastic, jerks that look down on those of us who smoke non-cubans. another "family that treats my like the stepchild" any others like this one? splitting boxes, howabout 5 or more people ea. put up 100.00, order as many diff. kinds for what money is their, divide evanly?
