Gentlemen,

I'm a relative cigar newbie, but looking to get into the cigar retail business. I have my tobacco resellers permit (NC) snd no I just need to find the best product with the most markup. I've been to cigar.com, cigars.com, wholesalecigars.com...are these the best plsces to buy in bulk? I'll need a decent amount of merch including cutters, lighters, humidors and obviously the cigars. Any help is appreciated.

If you are a cigar newbie I might recommend learning more about the product before diving in. Pricing and selection are a small portion of the battle if you are unable to make recommendations to your customers and answer their questions. If you are looking for the best pricing your best bet is probably to buy direct from General Cigar and Altadis who are the biggest manufacturers if you can get an account.

We won't mind your business though

On the websites, there are some exclusive products that you can't find in other places, so if you like'em, get'em.....but Macallan's right, for the best prices you should go direct.

How long have you been smoking cigars?

I've been smoking casualy since '97. I'm reading up on it like crazy, and the thing is...I have some space available to me now, and would like to sell some cigars on the side. Nothing huge. But combines with my other retail location, I think I'd have a nice little niche. Thanks for the advice on going direct - but aren't there HUNDREDS of cigar manufactorers? I don't think i could contact most of them...

There are many but like we said General Cigar and Altadis probably control 90% of all name brands and distribution.

Also, you could go to your local cigar shop and ask how they got started. You may learn some tricks of the trade.
