Punch Cutter

A lot of the times i smoke a cigar is when a group of my buddies and i are hanging out with nothing to do. We almost always find ourselves in need of a cutter. I just want to know how people feel about punch cutters. I bring this up because of the convienence of having a cutter on a keychain and on you at all times. Is the experience the same? Basically any discussion about punch cutters will help. Thanks

I love my punch cutter. especially when cutting a cigar with a short cap link a padron. Highly recommend.

I prefer a guillotine cutter. I find that unless your cigars are very well humidified, a punch cutter will tend to split the cigar near the cap. And we can't have that.

I like punch cutters, it's important to twist it into the cigar instead of just sticking it into it. I prefer scissors, I have a Xikar cutter that folds up for a key chain. I love it and it's not too bulky that it gets in the way.

I use a guillotine when I can, but a punch does great when I am out and about. I have a bullet shell from a 9mm rnd. Using the BRASS AFTER IT WAS SHOT I drilled 2 holes in the base of the casing and puched out the center fire so I can get the removed cap out and attched it to my keychain. My non-smoking friends who dont know I smoke are non the wiser when they see it on my chain. while those I do smoke with are intruiged and ask if I have any more. They are great I recommend getting one... or two

hey cigarsmoka, that Xikar cutter looks like a really nice one and im very intrested, but from what i see online looks like it would be a pain to carry around with a set of keys, how does it fold up?

Heres a quick image, it's not too bulky, I've been wearing it for a few months now...

I been using the Xikar folding cutter for a few years - just LOVE it!
The only cutter I like better is my swiss army knife.
It is bigger, but it is a much sharper blade.
IMHO to have something to carry around I like the folding Xikar.
I am not a big fan of a punch, but that is me.
My cigar always seems to unravel & I end up spitting peices.

I have a punch cutter on my key ring that my son bought me. I rarely ever use it though, in fact I pretty much never remember that it is there. I use a guillotine cutter most the time, the freebies that the vendors give me. I get enough of them that I throw them out when they start to get dull.
