Hi Guys,

I am a college student and am just starting to enjoy a nice cigar on specail occasions (after exams, etc.). I don't know much about cigars, and I was wondering if you could recommend some quality cigars for beginners. Any other information that you think would be useful, would be greatly appreciated as well.

Welcome Ben, glad you could make it over. What have you smoked so far?

I just started smoking cigars a month or two ago. Here is what I'd recommend:

La Vieja Habana -- under $3 for a single
Great cigar for the price

Baccarat -- anywhere from $2.50 - $4.50 depending on the size
Mild cigar with a sweet wrapper

Cusano18 -- $4-$5 each
Not my favoraite, but it is a new cigar thats getting high ratings.

If your comfortable spending $4 on a tiny cigar or $8 on a normal sized one then pick something out of the Drew Estate Natural line. "Root" was actually the first cigar I smoked (I smoked it backwords 8) -- don't tell anyone.) On my list for cigars to try now are Acid & CAO.

I just started a blog and I document every cigar I smoke in it.

I second the Cuasano 18. very creamy.

Also second the CAO Flavors and ACID. Though some look down upon them, smoke what ya like.

Also do a search in this forum. Similar matters have been discused.
