I see that this event is scheduled for May 13/14.
Is it worth going to?
I might consider if some of my forum friends are going to attend?
Help me out.
Need some advice.

PS:Should I change my name now that you know Malone is not me but my Grandson? Need your opinion? Do you suggest a new name? I hate to suggest this- but I will.
What should Malones new name be?
If I agree, and I will- a prize to the winner.
I may even change my name prior to the end of this contest- pay attention to every newbie- it may be me.

the smoker formerly known as malone is quite into the challenges. Hmmmmm, what is a good name for you? would be a lot easier if i knew you better. I will have to think about it

The big smoke is fun but expensive. It turns into kind of a mess of people trying to cash in their free coupons for cigars and waiting in line all night and that is annoying. I suggest only going if you would be happy going and not getting one free cigar. That is the test. Go to meet the men behind the cigars and enjoy like minded cigar smokers. If you are going only to get the free cigars, take your 175.00 to you favorite cigar shop/ website and buy yourself some samplers. Anyway just my .02

If anyone does make their way out to the chicago big smoke look for Thor and I at the Oliva booth which is where we will be working for the night :D

Good advice. I don't need to stand in line for free cigars. I will stand in line to meet the Oliva people and Cigar.com bosses.
Keep us posted so that I can budget- well in advance- a trip to Chicago to attend and spend a few extra days to visit friends.
I need to re-visit the famous sub( hogie, grinder) shop that dips the italian beef sub in the cooked juices. This place has no tables and you have to bend from the waist to eat it so that it does not drip on your shoes. As I remember it was not far from Al Capones Hotel.
Can't remember its name, but I'll never forget the sub. Best I've ever had.
I also want to re-visit a few other places, but I can't post the events that happened except to state Chicago was the best place to be entertained in the early 70's when I used to visit Chicago every six weeks. What great memories.

The best beef shop I've been to is on Taylor street, then right across the street they have a little italian ice stand...It's awesome..

The Chicago Big smoke is May 4th at the Hyatt Regency O'hare, Thant not too much notice, but you still have a couple weeks

bloof used to always say you should attend at least one, but i think he was talkin about the one in NYC
