Call from Cigar.com?

I just received a friendly call from a cigar.com representative. The call was followed by an email. It seems part of a plan to better 'customize' my service.

The email seems to be a good idea but I really don't think we need to be bothered on the phone about our cigar purchases do we? Have other cigar.com users gone through this experience? Should I be annoyed or flattered?

Oh, I think it's kind of nice. I'd also say that's why God invented the answering machine.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Our personal cigar consultants are provided as an added level of service for our customers to provide suggestions and follow up to make sure we are meeting all the needs and expectations of our customers. Many customers enjoy having their own personal "cigar guy" so we have one for every state. If any customers choose to not be phoned or only reached by email we can notate their account as requested.

Be happy :D I only order from Cory at Cigar.com and wont even go online. I dont really even consider myself a Cigar.com customer, I consider myslelf a Cory customer. Not only that if you work with these guys they will throw in free cigars or a small discount from time to time.

And many of their prices are already pretty good. I have in the past developed relationships with guys at certain cigar stores, and always lived to have benefited from it. I don't as a rule need or seek out a "cigar guy," but it can be fun and beneficial in more ways than one if it happens that such a relationship develops.

i love having a "guy". I am debating a transition from the local shop to cigar.com, but i still have a hard time buying cigars that I am not looking at in person. I am very hands on. I also am very impatient. I love being able to walk in whenever I want and be smoking the cigar I wanted 5 mins later. He is also very good to me, for example the time he gifted me an Opus X. However I like cigar.com because it is the closest site in giving me an experience like I get from my local shop. To all at cigar.com keep up the good work.

I appreciate their calls, I request to be called when specific cigars come in or to be notified if a specific cigar goes on sale. Always polite and never pushy. Works well for me.

I don't hear from Cory anymore, he had a good way about him, they have switched me over to Mark. Haven't yet bought any cigars from Mark.

You know, I still visit my old tobacco shop every now and then just to say Hi and buy a few sticks to keep good face with the guys.

Nowadays I have so many, I never smoke what I aquire right away anyway..

Me too, cigarsmoka. As in previous discussions, I may try one after two weeks in my own humidors just to see what the cigar may be like, but I usually age most of everything I get at least six months before putting them into smoking "circulation."

I know what cigars I like, and the brands are many. I don't need any help picking things out, but if someone in a shop or on the internet has a suggestion, I will take it to heart and seek that cigar out. As always, I'll let it sit for two weeks, then determine about what period of time to age them, or try one every three months after that until they're at a stage I know I'll like them.

Having four desk tops and always about 150-200 to pick from, it's nice to know when you buy cigars, whether they are your traditionals or new trys, that there's no rush to smoke them, you can have them when you know you'll like them best.

As for maintaining old relationships, I agree. I like to show support for the good folks in this world. Occasionally I will go out of my way to get to an old favorite store, or a new store someone has recommended and plunk down $50 for cigars I could have gotten for $35-38 at a favorite web site. Sharing the support leads to a stronger network in the long run and you never know when your own goodwill is going to come back to you in a way you will be very grateful for.

I got a call the other day too. I don't mind so much. It's great timing, though. The "T" word just pulled a fast one on me. The same thing they did to Bloof.

Honestly, I'm a pretty forgiving customer overall. People make mistakes and I understand that (having made more than my fair share). But when they open a open a line of credit without my consent and try to pass it off as a "courtesy". Oh, yeah! I'm done with that.

But I digress. Now that I'm in the market for a supplier, the call from cigar.com was an appropriately timed reminder that I've had nothing but good experiences with them in the past.

Gyrepin,

It was no accident...we have a mole at "T....'s" :ek: and whenever they have a disgruntled customer he gives us a quick call to give us a heads up...

Just Kidding of course.....

I'm glad we can help you out...... :D

I remember my first call fondly...

I thought it was a nice touch of service which you typically don't expect from an online company. It left a pretty good impression on me.

I buy my cigars from Cigar.com- almost 100%.
I've never had a phone call from Cigar.com.
Don't need one, and don't expect one.
I'm very satisfied with their website.
Guarantee is out front information. I've never had a problem, but if I did need a adjustment- I'm convinced I'd be OK.
I'm in good hands with cigar.com, and I am staying.
No phone calls- don't need them. Thanks.
