Thor and I ate dinner with Jose Blanco last night. Jose is the cheif guy over at Miami Cigar Co. Makers of La Aurora the ever popular La Aurora Preferido and 100 Anos. Jose has a rich history in the tobacco business and is the man behind some of the best cigar smoked today. FYI he said he checks out our little forum here every day :D

Anyway, Jose bought a box of cuban cohibas many years ago and has allowed himslef one cigar from the box every new years eve so each time he smokes on from the box a year has passed and every year they just get better and better. I thought this was really neat and unique. Definatley a tradition I will be starting on my B Day this year!!

If you want to learn more about Jose Blanco, Thor interviewed him for next issue of the newsletter.

sweet, i should do that for my birthday or somthing cool. time it right so i smoke the last one on my 40th or somthing.

Until recently, I used to do that with a Opus, whatever I could get my hands on. Now I would look into that cohiba tradition! Especially if you bought a higher end stick, esplendidos or sublimes, that would be fantastic!

That sounds like a great tradition...now I know what to do with that special box I've been saving.

I think it has all of us interested in that tradition!! Question for me, what cigar to buy??

Perhaps an EL, or Even a New box of Cien Anos!

Tough decisions in life these days, tough decisions!!

I tried that once with a box of CAO Anny's they came in nice gold tubes
They were going to be for Misa (My wife) & i to smoke on our anny.
Well a year passed and we no longer smoked Non-Cubans - & well  didn't want to have one on our special day.
I ended up giving them out to friends.
Now everytime I get something amazing and tell myself OK I can have one ever month - well I end up sucking down the box
like a Hooker being handed $100 bills all night.
Someday i will have enough of a collection to save a box of 20+years
but damn it is hard to do!
