I'm currently trying something a little different. I am building a coolerdor with a peltier cooling unit and a digital temperature controller. I can maintain 70 deg but my RH fluctuates between 68% and 85%. (I'm using wet floral oasis)

any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If I get this to work I'll try adapting a wooden humidor

Thanks
John

maybe add a little bit of spanish cedar and go to climax beads or something similar. They are easier to control. I would also recommend some Boveda pack as an alternative to the beads. They are the easiest thing to use IMO.

what watt peltier are you using? ive considered doing that. you could even use it as a heater in winter.

The peltier is about 60 watts @ 12vDC set to heat below 70deg and cool above. It is maintainin 70 deg +/- .2. I have a crude cedar vaneer lining but wood working is not my forte

Go the closest cigar shop and ask them for the chuncks of cedar that come in some cigar boxes. Line the bottom of the coolerador with the thick wood blocks. This should moderate the RH changes you are seeing. They act like a Buffer to limit the swing in RH.

Thanks Guys I'll stop at the cigar shop right after work and pick up some cedar chunks and climax beads. That should be a good starting point. Hey! while I'm at the cigar store I think I'll buy some cigars.

Thanks again

John
