I find when ever someone is doing something to make a buck - the rules change.
Not all, but high level business is business.
I saw it alot in the fishing world when I was building rods.
Companys tell you that what you want is what is easy for them to make. Not always what is best for you to fish with..

Okay, I've been away for a day and a half, and I don't have much time, so I'm making time I don't really have.

I get that Malone thinks I'm a good guy. As for the rest, I guess the blond(e) part of me is just kicking in. :dunno:

Are you referring to the lack of activity recently on the board do to some folks BS? I have attributed the lack of traffic on the board to a break in the beautiful summer weather, but I have been off before. Or is yours' a more state of the union type statement covering the cigar industry and the boards in general?

Well I know a little of Malone, and he's not one to blow smoke up our skirts, so, obviously something crawled under his skin last night,. Hopefully he'll get on and explain it to us, I'm very interested in his thought.

By the way CC, I hold many of the senior members of this board in very high regard for their knowledge. I mean senior in time on this board by the way, not age! :wink: I respect CC and malone's opinions and stories, as well as Bloof, Smoka,Macallen, Axegod,Tiny Tim, Alex, Bildo,and a slew of others, which is why this board is better then the rest. I feel more like family here, and I look forward to someday getting to meet some of you, somewhere for a drink and a stick, and some great face to face conversation!

I have to say I have really learned a lot myself even from the newest of smokers. There is no right and wrong when it comes to a lot of the issues surrounding cigars and I have enjoyed hearing the different methods of cutting, lighting, humidification. It seems the guys who benefit the least from these boards are the ones with a closed mind.

I would also like to comment on the quote from Malone. There are a lot of people who sell $3.00 cigars for $8.00 Malone is right on in his thinking. Listen to the cigars themselves. Pay no attention the band, price, our country of manufacturer. Each cigar tells a different story and each one literally passes through hundreds of hands from seed to smoke. The tools and methods they use in factories today are the same ones they used 100 years ago. It is one of the only industries I know of that has not changed there methods in that length of time and everything is stilll done by hand, including the boxes. I say when it comes to cigars, look past any and all BS and buy what you like. This hobby is too expensive to smoke what is trendy.

Bullseye! Nice comment Mac! Makes all the sense in the world, and you couldn't be anymore correct! This is a cool little inustry that still has pride in it's heritage and sticks to what works. I might like an Opus, but that doesn't mean I'd pass up a diploma, or hell some other less expensive and much easier to obtain stick...Gloria Cubana...Blah Blah...LOL.

But when it comes to some prices...there are some things that can't be avoided...some people aren't direct with certain manufacturers, therefor buy from second markets adn charge the arm and a leg without even that much profit...but they have it because customers ask for it....

Well with that said....I need to smoke.....Still at least an hour before I can.... :cry:
