What is the most you ever paid for a cigar?

Mine was $600 - it was a 4 colored Chili Pepper
(the wrapper was 4 colors)
I never intended to smoke bought as a work of art.
As for cigars I will someday smoke -
mine is a Davidoff Dom Perignon
worth around $200/$300

How about you?
CC

im not very exciting the most i have spent is about $26 each on 3 opus perfexion A

most i ever spent was $14 on some punch cigar a long time ago at some local shop.

50.00 on a cohiba sublime, Domestic would be 39.00 on a forbidden X Double Chateau. :D :D

I am not a smoker, but have bought quite a few sticks for friends when travelling. In 1996 I was in Orangestad Aruba and found some old Qban Davidoff Churchill's that ran $50 ea. I had cigars stuffed in every shoe in my suitcase. On the way thru the airport I found a Punch Punch that was on my buddies "wish list" so I bought it and had it in my carry on. Before putting it there, I took the band off and put it in my wallet. When I came thru customs in Pittsburgh I declared that I had a "dominican" cigar on my declaration page. The customs agent demanded to see it so I got out the bandless Punch Punch -- he looked at it and gave it back -- told me to pass on through --- :) Had he opened my suitcase and dug around inside my shoes he would have found about 60+ cigars that still had bands on them.

I have heard a bunch of stories like that and they never get old :D

I smoked a Dunhill Cabinetta 1986 that sells for around $350.00 at auction, but it wasn't my purchase. (rated 100 at cA)

Fuente oddities have run me a hundy or so a stick, but that's it. The Padron 40's and Opus A's are the most expensive "released" smokes I have paid for. ($30 range)

Probably 50 bucks for an A, and two Padron 40th anni's....

Thankfully they were gifted to me.....

That gives new meaning to that barnyard smell Mike.

CC, Your way out of my league man, I've never spent more than about $30 for a cigar.

Trust me when I say they are far and few between.
When I collected stuff (before the flood) i used to buy rare Fuente stuff for my collection.
Now the occasional rare Cuban -
1492 - $200
Some Davidoff & dunhill
as well as a few of the Millenium jars ($800 a jar)
other then that it's everyday smokes
$150-$250 a box

I may not be a smoker or lover of cigars, but I also am not stupid. ;) I had the cigars in zip-loc baggies inside of clean socks. I put them inside of the shoes so that they would not show up as easily on an x-ray. I had quite a few happy friends (Especially the guy I got the q-ban Davidoff's for!)

Around 16 bucks for a Liberty Ammendment XII, and will be about the same probably for the 2k5 Liberty, which I can't wait to try.

this thread makes me go

I've never paid more than 30 bucks for any one cigar.

I have long wanted to try a Cuban Davidoff....That is something I will have to wait and hope they are still around when I can splurge

  Too funny Shaka! Thor, maybe someone on the board can help you?! Never know what wonderful sticks lie around the corner!

I paid about $55 each for some Davidoff #1s recently. Next to that would be the Morales custom rolls I recently received.

I've also been gifted some gems though like a Davidoff 5000 and an early '80s RyJ Churchill (tube).

Mike

Bildo,

25.00 each for th opus a is a great price.

Most expensive cigars I have are Padron 40th anni.

Recently I have seen a steep increase in any leftover partagas 150 that has been roaming around out there.

So how was it?

the Cabinetta IMHO is far better than the Dom.
The Dom were not as strong and have gone past their prime.
Not that they are not one of the best, but I feel the Dunhill
is a little better of of a smoke!
Wish i had more then one - Thor it would be yours!
If and when your ready let me know I think I can find a single
for you! (Maybe!)
