I'm headed to the tinder box this afternoon to buy a few sticks. I have been interested in trying a davidoff for some time now. Which one is the best for those of you that have tried them? Any other suggestions for a great cigar while I'm there? probably in the the $8-10 range?

The only Davidoff I ever smoked was a "Double R" I think it was. Not too bad of a smoke. Just wasn't worth the price. As for a cheaper cigar, I'm quite fond of the Partagas Spanish Rosado at the moment, but I'm just a novice so my experience is limited.

davidoff mill. it's the best. if you like full flavor. Cuesta rey sun grown, is nice to. Med flavor try a R&J bully or toro size, there nice to.

I smoke a lot of davidoff. I like the millenium or the special R. But honeslty dont waste your money and buy a cusano hermanos vintage. I can hardly tell the diffence and they are made from the same tobacco, by the same rollers, at the same factory. Only 1/2 the price.

im sure it was gonna come up at some point, so ill just say it
ANY padron will get you where you're going

Mac, I remember you saying that same thing a while ago but I've yet to try a comparison. Which Davi is the Hermanos Vintage similar to?

Hmm, I never smoked a Davidoff cigar. When I used to smoke cigarrettes, I smoked some of Davidoff's cigarrettes, which were excellent IMO. I need to try one of their cigars.

I agree, I used to sneak a few of my dad's Davidoff and Dunhill cigarettes before I quit and they put anything coming out of Big Tobacco to shame.

Agree with Axe and the others, Daividoff cigarettes were very tastey. I have had a special R or so, never had the millenium, but I agree with Mac, I have yet to take his comparison test, but there are plenty of cigars out there that are just as good if not better for half the price! I love the Fuente Opus X series, as well as the Anejo's, but I know at least 4 or 5 different smokes that are half the price and just as yummy, but I still keep my Opus habit...Can't let old habits die I guess!! :) Punch Rare Corojo is a must try in your price range as well. I think it's a phenomenal smoke for the price IMHO.

Enjoy!

Axe, for me the real comparison is between the Special R and the Hermanos vintage. Like I said in that thread, you can tell the difference between the two but the aromas from each woudl be pleasing the same smoker. IE I liked the hermanos vintage just as much as the special R although I could still tell the two appart by their subtle nuances.

I would urge you to try the Excalibur 1066 or the Excalibur Royal Sterling Fortis 7 1/2 x 54 or any Padron

I will agree with Deacon. I just bought another box of the Royal Sterling. One of my everyday smokes. I will have to say out of all the regulars here, we all have VERY different palates. Hopefully someday mine can be as good as CC's lady!!

Finally..............someone whoe has a descering palate and actually agrees with me.......... :D :D :D :D

Deacon, most of us agree with you on the Cohiba, but most can't afford it. Firemen Make $shit for wages.... Oh, wait, no we don't...hehehe. I just can't justify a 25.00 smoke everyday.

RE

Heck man i don't smoke 25.00 cigars except on week-ends and speical occasions....you should try the Cohiba Red Dots or the Excalibur Royal Sterling or the Excalibur 1066 and if you have never tried the ABAM line of cigars, I highy reccomend them to the seasoned smoker. They average out at about 103.00 a box. I will also trade some cuban for some Premium D.R. cigars. for anyone that is trying to start their collection. I do not mind sharring with those who are new in the hobby

The Cohiba Red Dot toro is my all time favorite. I smoke those like they are going out of style!!
