I was wondering if anybody has used either the Diamond Crown digital hygrometer or the Prometheus digital hygrometer (the two sold on this site) and any insights owners of these may have. Also, insights regarding other brands of digital hygrometers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Both are premier brands, and both are probably as comperable as they come,I have the diamond crown in my one desktop. After salt testing it for the first time is came out dead on at 75% RH, so, I couldn't ask for anything more!

Either is a fine choice, and if you are upgrading from an analog, both are God sent!!

Hope I helped,
Paul

Both work fine. If you dont mind something a little larger I would suggest just going to radio shack. Those seem to read more consistently for me.

All good advise!

Personally I don't use one haven't for a long time.

BUT!
My system is rock solid "Set & Forget"
I set it where I want it and forget about it.

CC, to clarify you have an active system correct? You have a temperature and humidity controlled environment, so once you establish a baseline for the operation, you do not necessarily need to have an ongoing reading if you choose. I thought it important to point out that not everyone can afford and or has a system that is maitenance free. A quality humidor and credo should indeed keep everything relatively correct, but depending on where in the world you reside, and how the environemental variables fluctuate in your area, you may require more hands on, and less set it and forget it! CC just so happens to live in the beautiful part of north eastern PA!!

To Macallens point, I too use two Radio shack hydrometer/thermometer combo's, and though they are large, I have been very pleased with their performance and they only cost about 20.00 or so bucks at your local "Rat Shack".

Peace and corojo grease!
