i know there are a few of you who smoke a pipe so i ask what blends do you smoke, how often, how many pipes do you have, do you have pipes for certain blends, any blends you highly recommend, what is your favorite blend and what tobaccos are in it and why is it your favorite?
ok thats enough for now :D

I'm still too new to answer any questions about blends. After all, you only convinced my to purchase a pipe a few weeks ago

I have one pipe. I bought it just out of curiosity and the guy at my smokeshop gave me some tobacco to sample. He let me choose which one, so I tried the black cherry. I like it. I'd like to get another pipe and try some other tobaccos. I haven't smoked it in about a month.

i have been smoking a ton of blends mostly cavendish but have smoked some with latakia recently. i have 3 nices pipes i rotate each day and two cheapo pipes i test new blends in. i have one pipe for latakia, and two that i smoke my cavendish blends in. my favorite blend is a blend my tobacconist makes himself, not a renamed lane blend, its called drift boat and is a black cavendish. I also like a renamed lane blend my tobacconist calls Q street. It is also a cavendish.

Man, the more I think about a pipe the more enticing it is for me to go get one. Just the feel of a nice heavy pipe sounds good. And just the names of those tobaccos sound really tempting. I'll have to get a pipe Axe and we can explore blends together.

I have a pipe that I bought off ebay and have yet to use it because I dunno what to do, what tobacco, and all that. Any help for a beginner Bildo or anyone else.

as far as selecting a tobacco i would start with something mild. almost every tobacco i have tried has been the recommendation of my tobacconist so if you can get that kind of help it would be good. packing is the most important part of the pipe because if you pack it poorly it won't smoke well and can get you frustrated.

here is info on packing:

here is info on different blends:

i would stick to bulk blends instead of tins just because they are much cheaper

pipe tobacco

Has anyone tried cigars with pipe tobacco? How are they?

I've heard mixed results but I'm curious.

only pipe tobaco cigars ive ever heard of are black and milds.

Anyone ever tried putting a cigar into a pipe? Let's you smoke that baby all the way to the end. Not as personal with the cigar though. Not really making love, just sort of a prostitute.

I tried that once...never again. As I mentioned earlier, I smoke an aromatic black cherry blend in my pipe, and the flavor leftover in the pipe just does not mix well with a cigar. :bigpuke:

I've actually heard of two other types besides Black and Mild.
John T's and Heavenly.

I just don't know anyone who's tried them.

Maybe I'll be daring enough to try them this weekend.

im on my way out to the shop to burn a big ol bowl of dunhill 965 :D
