I'll be heading to Vegas for a few days tomorrow, Staying at the MGM.
Anybody got the lowdown on the cigar bars or places to check out. I see the Havana Cigar company has a roller at the Tropicana during the week.
I know the HCF just had a sitdown there.

Razor --- there is a Davidoff store right on the casino floor. It is adjacent to the Player Club booth.

I just got back from there this past monday -- so you can ask me if you have any questions. We stayed at the MGM and I can tell you that we did not pay for a single meal (and we did not eat at the buffet much!!).

You must have done good on the tables then Gunner!
This will be my first trip out there, Really looking forward to it!

After the first 12 hours in the casino -- we were up almost $6000. By the time we left we were just a tad up. According to the Players Club booth, every point on your card equates to $1.50 in slot play ($3 for poker machines). We had a BUNCH of points on our account plus the time at the tables.

If you have any questions -- ask away ---- From shows to restaurants. How many days you going to be there??

You get your card at the player's club booth or when you check in?

My wife and I will be there till Sunday. She's been planning away, but any recommendations you have will be appreciated.
I'll be smokin and gamblin as much as I can!

Gunner, what was the best place for dinner in the hotel, I'm sure we'll be eating there several times?

when you go into the casino from the lobby area keep to the left walll --- you will run into the Davidoff store and players club booth. Get your card before playing a DIME! ---- That card is good in any machine or table at the following casino's --- MGM, NY NY, Bellagio, Treasure Island and The Mirage. Do not forget to keep your card with you and even hand it to the pit boss when playing table games.

The first day, go and buy a multiple day Monorail Pass --- it is worth it because it is so hot there right now it is not fun to walk outside. The monorail station is in the MGM Shoppes area which is in the back of the casino --- (when you come out of the Elevator area go away from the lobby.

We ate at the chinese and did not like it. The japanese Saboya is great as is the Steak restaurant!

KA was a good show but Zumanity was not (in my opinion)

Thanks Gunner, How about the craps tables at MGM. $10.00 and up?
Do you have to do a $10.00 min to get rated?

Will definately do the mono rail.

One card good at all those casinos! They all owned by the same outfit I believe.

If in vegas youi must hit casa fuente. You can get all the rare sizes of opus, and a casa fuente cigar. It is a must see. Take your camera I have heard it is remarkable.

MGM requires a $25 table bet for rating ---- NY NY only requires $10

I did terrible at the Craps tables!! Did best at BlackJack, 3 Card Poker and WAR. Made most of the money at the Slot Machines. If you plan to try and get comps, I would suggest playing only at MGM/Mirage casino's. If you play a little at alot of different casino's -- you will not get squat for comps. If you play a bunch, they will even let you have late check out (our flight left at 11:55pm). You have to go through the players club or slot host to get that though. If you go to the front desk ,they will tell you NO!

Roger that! You can't get in and out of a cab for less than $12-$15 out there!

And there's always the chance when taking a hack that you'll wind up on that HBO "Taxicab Confessions" hidden cameras series!

When the HCf did our Vegas thing we booked private rooms for our partys - other than that you can smoke anywhere you want in Vegas.
For the most part -
one thing to consider is Casa Fuente (in Ceasars) they have a cigar called "Casa Fuente" that you can only buy there - $27 a stick I think?
If not cheaper - they also have some rarer stuff BBMF & LBMF
but not cheap!
There was also a Colluseum (sp?) shop in Ceasars that had Cuban Pre-embargo cigars - starting at $200 and up from there -
Nothing I'd buy - but interesting!

Good Luck Hit a Big Jack POT!
