Has anyone ever gone to a cigar promo by CAO?
I went to one last night in San Diego and I hope it's not indicative of what CAO is like everywhere.

Let me say this, I love CAO cigars so this is in no way a bad endorsement for their products.

It's just that they didn't put on a good "show".
The flyer at the store said, "Come down and meet (yada yada) and try out the entire CAO line. Features will include the MX2, the new CX2 and the Criollo. Discounts! Free stuff! Giveaways! Food and drinks!

This is what they REALLY had:
1 box of MX2
1 box of CX2
1 box of Criollo
1 box if Italia
1 box of Gold

Here were their specials:
Buy 3 MX2's and get a free Criollo
Buy 3 CX2's (at $11 a pop) and get a free MX2
Buy 5 of any and get a free CAO hat
Buy a box of any and get a free T-shirt.

And the food....oh the food!

Cookies and punch.

I hope that it was just the store that was that lame to have such a sh*tty show. I would hate to think that CAO would do that to it's customers or future customers.

I'm just let down. So I went to another store up the road and bought an MX2, CX2 (for $ 8 ) and a Criollo and they gave me the one CAO hat they had for free!

I feel like writing to CAO as well. I don't know what good that would do though.

I don't know......I'm just venting!

What do you mean, what's he gonna do? He is . . .

The God Of The Axe, . . .

and they had better beware that he doesn't make like a corporate sized cigar cutter and lower his blade on their butts.

Get 'em, axe! :samurai:

One of the smoke shops in my area is having a Camacho dinner sometime next week. According to the flyer, 5 cigars and dinner for $75. They are even having a cigar roller there, don't know if they are rolling Camacho sticks or not. If I'm not up bird hunting, I might attend.

After The God Of The Axe has bloodied their cheap ass butts, they will be C.A.Ohhhhhh!!!!!! Actually, I have more than a sneaking suspicion that the folks at CAO were constrained by the meager surroundings of their hosts. If you don't have all the advance planning in place, then your frontman can make you look bad. I hear that Cano Ozgener, his daughter and the rest of the folks at CAO are first class people, and one incident shouldn't turn anyone off to going to a future event. If I was hosting a friend's birthday party at your restaurant, and you provided me with Fritos and Diet-Pepsi, it might not be my fault, but it sure would make me look bad.

I've seen them at Big Smoke events in NYC. DocBarry knows them, speaks highly of them, and I have no reason to say anything negative myself. It's a shame what happened, but don't blame CAO or it's corporate structure.

PM sent again.

If you don't get it this time, let me know and I'll just put it up here.

I just got an email from the CAO mailing list about a promo in Nashville, where they will be giving out wine! It also, mentioned a DVD by CAO. Has anybody seen this DVD?, and if so, is it any good?

Yes the Ozingers are great people. I know them well and believe me when they want to throw down on an event, they spare no expense. The event in Nashville is supposed to be huge. I would encourage anyone to attend. Most of the time when events go south, it has more to do with the retail store then with the vendor. Vendors count on the retailer to set everything up and communicate their needs to the vendor. It does not sound like that happened.
