How important is fresh air to cigars?

I moved to VA at the end of August but had to leave my humidor at my parents house because it wouldn't fit in my car and I haven't had a chance to go home and retrieve it, but my parent's are going to bring it up when they visit for Thanksgiving. The problem is, the humidor probably hasn't been opened since August (it's a cabinet type humidor). I'm not concerned about the humidity (the humidor keeps it like a champ along with the beads I have in there and has never needed to be refilled with water) but was wondering if the lack of a fresh oxygen supply has damaged the few cigars I have in there? The majority of them are still wrapped in cellophane if that makes a difference.

Optimally, it should be opened briefly once every week or two. I wouldn't worry about it. Just call up and have somebody open it for about ten seconds every week or two until you get back.
