I just tried my first Cuban Monetiscristo #2 tonight. The cigar was very well constructed with an even burn and easy draw. It seemed to start with a bit of coffee bean and nutty flavor and became a bit more like cocoa halfway through. I would give this cigar an 89. Just curious how others' experience with Cuban have been. In my humidor right now I have:
1 Montecristo #2
2 Romeo y Julietas
1 Cohiba Siglo II

I"ve got some Monte #4's in my humi and an Edmundo that I'm saving for a special occasion. Friends of mine say they get a buzz, but it hasn't happened to me yet. Nothing but nice creamy smoke.

Perfect Burn?? Does not sound like any Cuban cigar I have ever smoked

Okay just kidding. I like the monte 2 but I am more partail to them before the millenium. Something changed.

Cuban Montecristo

I believe it was late 90's, possibly 1997. It wasn't the best burn that I've had but the ash was very white and fell off easily.

Cuban cigars...as a rule have very dark ash...dark olive drab or dark grey...never white.

:(

Sorry for the delayed post Castlecrest. April 2004 is the date on the Edmundo. A guy from another board I post on sent it, a Ramon Allones PC, and a San Luis Rey PC to me. The RA was a wonderful smoke.
