So yeah.. head into town today to check out Schwabs, and I walk in, and theres a Bolivar Cigar tasting going on! Score! So dad and I handed 2 Bolivar '05s, robusto i think, and head to the back(they pay the city fine to letting people smoke in the establishment, w00t!), grab a couple of Amber Bochs(free beer, cigars, and snakes..its heaven!), take a seat, and watch the Florida vs Wake Forrest game. You guys should give these a try if you havent...marvelous cigar! I bought another 2 to bring home and enjoy, as well as a Macnudo Maduro Hampton Court tubo! This too, is a GREAT smoke.

I loved it. Everyone was friendly. There were a couple underage(17) in there with their fathers enjoying a good brew and a cigar for the game(KY is HUGE NCAA basketball fans...being we have the best team and all:)) The store owners were great, and they kept on with the cigars. Bolivar sent them 8 boxes, and only like 40 people showed up, so you could keep getting cigars as long as you stayed. I smoked some good Black Cavendish as well(first time piping lol). THere was even girls in there smoking cigars with their boyfriends , it was great.
Entered a drawing for this really nice 125ct Bolivar 2 shelf humidor, a nice Bolivar hat, and a box of the Bolivar '05s to start to fill it with. Pretty good odds of winning, will find out tommorrow if I won!

Check out generalcigar.com. They list most of the cigar tasting events that go on with their products.

There's a La Gloria Cubana one at my tobacconist this weekend though no freebies that I know of. He usually just makes up some deal for the event. I like going just to hang out with the guys.

Davidofs (sp?) in NY has a tasting class every year.

They bring in their master blender & have 4 cigars,
the first 3 are rolled of only one tobacco,
the last is a blend of all three.
The Master Blender explains how each tobacco is selected &
how it's flavors will be focused on certain places in the taste buds.
Then you taste the fully blended cigars.

It is well worth the time (it is free) it takes you will learn a lot about cigars, blends, tasting - and more!

El fumador in Sewickley PA is having a Bolivar tasting Saturday (tomorrow) from 10 or 12 to 6...free sticks food and drinks.

This is my favorite cigar shop...small...but great humidor!!!!

I have a dinner and beer tasting party tonite in Ohio...coming home tomorrow morn...will go to the bolivar event in the afternoon sometime...

to paraphrase Monty Python's holy grail

"Burn him, Burn him... he's a witch... Burn Him"

"He turned me into a newt and smokes macanudos"

Well as long as we are being honest, I have been sighted in the past with a Macanudo robust in my mouth. I try to keep that stuff behind closed doors though in the privacy of my home

Yeah, I can still be seen every Blue moon with a Vintage 93 #1 from time to time...

I think this thread is going to turn into a Macanudo smokers annonymous thread

I will admit, I do have some 88's and 93's in the humidor. Never had a MAC that I liked...... Wait until Calibus' box sees this!!! He will be out for blood.

Lol...someone should explain the deal with the anti-macanudo movement goin on here lol

93's, or 1997's are some great stix! But honestly....they can't REALLY be considered Macanudos. Just because the name on the label says so...
