ya know,
I've been on the net pretty much since Al Gore invented it. I've spent alot of time at a computer for work so naturally, I have spent plenty of time on forums. Mostly gun forums.
Most of those places, I rarely go to anymore. For that matter, I really don't spend much time on forums anymore. The net is more or less a place for me to find stuff or glean information. I accidentally found this place while looking for humidor information for Razorking. Thought it was kind of neat and since I was getting into cigars, I thought I would use this place for info also.
I have found though, that the people that seem to be drawn here are the most courteous, friendly and down right upstanding bunch I have ever met on the internet. Most people online seem to want to baffle you, impress you or fight with you...
Jeez...Ronn (big Paintbrush) who I hardly know other than posts here..went out of his way to find and buy and ship something to me...just ...because........
I have heard that the cigar community is a pretty friendly bunch, but it just amazes me that we seem to have an awesome group of people here...

Thanks everybody...for just being cool!
:D

I concur.

When I first got out of the Marine Corps, my biggest fear was not having the same comraderie elsewhere. As a few of you know, I work at least 70 hours a week in Corrections. Spending that much time with co-workers, one would thing that you would enjoy being around somebody for that long period of time.

The fact is, I dislike most people I work with, as they are lazy and very complacent, and I hate being associated with negative people.

I have found that "Comraderie" here in the Cigar.com forum, and believe it or not, when I am at work, I wonder what conversations are going on in the forum. What am I missing? I wish I could just log on at work, when things are not working out right at work.

I have had the pleasure of only meeting Kelvin so far, and hope to meet the rest of you soon. I know a few of you have also met Kelvin, and if anybody gets the chance, he is a real genuine person, who can can have some really good conversations with. Most Mondays (my day off) we meet up at the local and have a smoke and coffee, if anybody is interested, you are more than welcome. CC, I hope to meet you soon, as you a re pretty close to me.

Ravyn, thanks for posting this thread. You are absolutley right. The members of the Cigar.com forum are really awesome and great people or better yet, friends. I hope to buy everyone of you a drink someday!

Scott

Ya it is great isnt it. I think it is specifically this forum too. I have seen other cigar forums that are rude, crude, and unwelcoming. This place a nice inviting feel to it. A forum however is only as strong as its members so thank you everyone.

I would also agree with everything that has been said. When you live some where that does not have a cigar shop, this forum even becomes more important. You guys are my "local" tobacconist and you're costing me lots of money, so stop with all the great suggestions. No, just kidding. Thanks everyone!

I know I'm grateful for this forum and all of you on it. I've learned more from this forum, about cigars, than any magazine or book I've picked up. I love all of the suggestions! I usually get the "Did you get lost little lady?" attitude in cigar shops. It's like, I have to prove that I'm serious about cigars, in these shops. But, not here. Thanks, everyone.

AAAAHHHHHHHHH-RAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Ditto to everything said here. I just got into cigars this year and found cigar.com by accident tryingto find deals on cigars, found the forum and jumped on to see what it was all about. Keep in mind that I HATE computers and I don't belong to any other forum of ANY kind. However, this one caught me and I've been hooked ever since. I've gotten more information from the members here than from any other source and now I find myself giving my friends, who are starting this crazy life, advice like I'm some kind of seasoned pro!

I love this place and the people in it.

Thanks everyone!

Semper Fidelis!

It's a great Place! We should start organizing more Sit-downs "Herfs" On a quarterly, or yearly basis where everyone could try to attend in one central local....

Just an ideal though.....

I'd love to.
It's hard being on the west coast seeing as how MOST of you are on the east or in the midwest. Although I do have family in Chicago, Michigan and Indiana. It would be a great excuse to visit!

I think Cigar.com ought to sponsor a "buy a box" and get an all expense paid trip to the Forum Sit-down Herfs to be held annually in some exotic cigar friendly country.

Ravyn:

Great Post! I can't believe how much time I end up reading the posts on the forum.

I have met some great folks here like Scott (USMC6672) - who is the first person I met from the forum and a stand up guy whose got his head together - Joseph (Calibus) and Anthony (Axegod) who made a boring business trip to SF a GREAT time - and Loren (CastleCrest) whom I only got to spend about an hour and a half at the Delaware River and made me feel like an old friend right away.

This is only in the 6 months that I have been on this forum. I am guessing over the next year I will be meeting more of you.

Hopefully it's one big party somewhere.

Brenda - Arizona sounds good to me! Scott - you want shotgun on the trip?

just wanted to add my 2 cents. I really appreciate the business run here, the only place I have found to buy singles, great delivery and service.

also appeciate people answering my stupid questions and I have learned more in a short time about cigars at this site than probably anywhere else I could find. I just started about 3 months ago after smoking a Opus X my daughter had given me with other cigars about 2 years ago. had held onto the Opus and it was still in good shape and when I smoked that one, I thought d*mn this is a good smoke. bummed some more from daughter as birthday gift and here I am ordering and smoking away. appreciate you guys answering questions and just seeing what you talk about

I agree a HUNDRED percent! I would love to get together with this circle of friends and toast a wonderful part of our lives that we all enjoy! I am going to try my hardest to make the MI "WALK IN HUMIDOR" christening this summer. :D :D :D (That's still on isn't it?)

Something else I want to point out; look at how many forum members sent packages to Devil Dog for shipment to his friend in Iraq!!!
(btw DD, my shipment is being held-up while I prepare something special for him.)

I have lurked in MANY of the other cigar forums, even posting from time to time, but NONE of them have the family and friends atmosphere of Cigar.com and AmBack. Love it here!

Good to go!
I'll probably be sending out another pkg to him around the 1st of Dec.

Thanks brother.

Of course the sit down is still on! I am excited as anyone to have this at my house. I hope everyone can make it. This is the best way to get to know the forum!

I want to say that I agree with all that have posted before. I don't think that I have ever seen the kind of relationsip in this forum anywhere else, and I think it is amaaaaaazinggg. You guys all look out for each other, and in todays world, that is not a common thing.

I seriously doubt that I will ever get to meet any of you, but I really enjoy reading all that you have to say, adn getting to know you better through your posts.

By the way, am I the only Canadian in this group? If there are any others out there, I would like to know about you!

Take care all, have a great weekend!

This is an outstanding website. There's so much info goin round on all the forums. I've been around the different cigar sites for a while, and while I visit here, I don't offer a lot of posts. I've got about an hour at night on the net, so I tend to read and run.

People here are friendly and knowedgeble, and with folks like Castlecrest, Tiny Tim, a few others from the Boston area who post here and who I am privileged to know, and of course Bloofington, this cigar forum is among the finest around.

THAT folks, is an endorsement that will be ringing in the halls of AmBack/Cigar.com when The Lord returns. Thank you. It means quite a bit coming from the likes of you, that endorsement.
