i am asking this question in the hopes that the more expeirenced smokers can give us newer guys some ideas of good cigars to try. please post the best cigar you have ever smoked no matter the price just the best. also what cigar was the biggest dissapointment in terms of taste to you.

so far my favotite is one i just tried recently it is the onyx reserve i just love the taste and ample flavorfull smoke of this cigar. my biggest dissapointment i guess would be the c2 by cusano didnt like the taste and it was as hard as a rock and i have always liked cusanos besides that one.

I'll have to think about the best for a little, so I'll give you two of the worst:

Helix maduro XP Pyramid
And
Maria Mancini Magic Mountain Maduro

Both burned terribly and had a sooty, ashtray taste to them. I wasn't able to get past 1/2 way with the Helix and the MM only lasted 1/3.

I LOVE the C2 (go figure).

My fav is the Opus X, but my "everyday" favorite is probably a 5 Vegas A or Partagas Black.

Worst? Hands down the Pueblo Dominicano Torpedo. Two draws on that awful thing and into the ash heap!

The best:

CAO black Mosaic. I could not finish it, and left out in the smoking lounge, (my garden shed) and came back in a couple of days to finish it. It had frozen in the mean time, and that cigar still tasted GREAT!!!

Second best; Perdomo Reserve La Tradition Robusto. Creamy smooth, and a wonderfull aroma of roasted coffee.

That is what I call a great cigar, and less than 5 bucks too.

The worst; a Don Tomas corona recommended to me by a fellow at my B&M. Most of his recommends have been good, but I did not like that one.

Best: A vintage 1995 Montecristo Torpedo (Cuban) But as far as more widely available, I love the Diploma and the Opus X

Worst: Helix

Best on overall experience: Gurkha Beast

Best on overall taste: CAO CX2 Belicoso

Biggest disappointment: Ashton Churhill

ah that sucks, my PD was awesome the other day. Give it another try :)

Best-Cohiba Red Dot
Awesome smoke but a little pricy

Dissapointing-Montecristo White lable
Just a lot of smoke and very little taste. Wife hated the smell.

A lot of you have listed the helix as the worst, add my name to the list, , but for you cigar smokers <I did try a Sausa tiquilla flavored cigar , I did get a good light & it had a fine draw, & burned nice but the taste the taste, , well I tossed it before I got sick & hurlled , as far as great smokes well there are just to many to list starting with AVO going to Zino, & a ton in between Cuban & non Cuban I have had so many fine smokes since 1955 I dont think I could name them all, Enjoy, Vince

My brother brought me home a Helix that is in a white and blue tubo. He said it was great, so he bought me one. Im scared to try it now! lol

Syntas,
I think that the best thing to do is pick some unfortunate Newbie and send him that Helix and I am sure that they will dispose of it in a suitable manner. LOL, LOL.

(I still cannot get the smileys to work properly, I think it is my browser)

My favorite for everyday is probably the Cohiba Corona Minor.

My favorite for special occasions would be a Cuban Montecristo 2

My least favorite would be a Fuente Gran Reserva...very dry and sooty.

Well...I lit it up to smoke while I finished putting the Christmas lights up on the house. Took 3 draws of it, threw it in a glass of water, and lit up a CAO Italia. It was my first Italia and I enjoyed it very much. Aroma had smells of cedar, and weed. Anyone else get that?

I liked the Sauzas but haven't had one in months. I'll have to pick another up and see what my refining palate makes of it.

I'll take any and all Helix's off anyone's hands. Am I the ONLY one who likes that cigar?

The one I smoked tasted like poo. Ill give the maduro a try...I think I just dont like conneticut shade wrappers

And that's a key point. A lot of my favorite cigars are those smooth, mild, light Connecticut shade wrapped cigars. There's not too many of us left, and none on this web site.

Best: so many I cannot name one. I love the cusano 18, the rocky patel vintage 90.

Hate: stuff sold in a convenience store. I can honestly say I have not had a hand rolled cigar, long filler cigar I did not like.

Then again I have not tried as many cigars as most people on this board.

Bloof,

Mild Dominican Connecticut?????? Is there a Macanudo smoker hiding in there???
