Humafacation device

I recieved my cigar.com order the other day-can't wait to try them. My question is,they came packed with a little blue packet that was cold. Can I use that in my humi instead of that black disk?Do I need to put distilled water on it to make it cold again? About four days ago I turned the screw on the back of that dial because it would always stay at 80%-90%. I set it at 65%. When can I put a humafacation device back in? Right now I've still got a dry sponge and a small strip of ceder soaking up any excess mositure. For Christmas I'm gonna ask for a new humi so I can break it in properly. I'm gonna need a larger capacity one anyways. When I purchesed this humi,I didn't know it had to be set up before cigars were added. Anyways, thanks for the help!

If I understand what your saying -

K the screw is used at the time of a salt test - read the sticky post
on doing a salt test.
After testing the hygrometer you can set it to 75% if it is off.
BUT, unless in is digital it will never be right.
Analog hygrometers just don't work.

Radio shack has a good unit for $20
