What do you guys and gals think is the best humidification device out there I need something for a 250 Ct. humidor and id prefer something that you dont need any chemicals to keep it at 70% i seen a site that had some reviews i was just looking for some profesional oppinions
http://www.smokemag.com/reference/humidifiers2.htm

Yeah becuase i want something that can reliably keep my cigars at 70% i dont care if i got to buy like 10 drymistat or 3 humidifyers as long as its realiable and i dont have to babysit it... im also going to get one of thoes humigauge either the perfecto or the micro digital II so i can see what range it has been throught

If you go the cigar oasis route, make sure to get the newest version which is digital and truly takes all the guesswork out of humidity control.

I recommend the Cigar Oasis as well - &
keep your cigars at 65% -not- 70% they will smoke better.

Personally I use a Set and Forget system - over kill for a 250 count
so the CO is perfect I'd also use the bead medium with it.
They will help to keep the rh perfect.
I've been doing this for years and it works wonderfully!

Try Heartfelt.com for the beads!

Yes the new cigar oasis XL. They run about 100.00 and humidify up to 500 sticks. It has adjustable output like the old model, but unlike the old model, it has low water and battery indicators, has a digital hygrometer built into the unit, and now will work on a 9V battery so you dont have to mess with cords if you dont want to.

SOLD!!

cigar oasis was purchased this morning thanx for all of the help

If the cigar.com forum members sell a product they should get a commision!

That is just the way cigar smokers are -
For me - making sure they get the right thing is important.
If your smking better cigars all the better.
I'd set the oasis on 65% not 70% they will smoke better.
IMHO

will do becuase i have only read good things about you in the forum thanks for all the help

I got mine off ebay and it can be either plugged in or run off the battery. It has a low battery warning light and it has a low water warning light i got it off of the cheaphumidors.com ebay store

Hmm

Another question about humidification and cigar oasis the 250 count I have has 2 drawers, 2 pull out fishing box type things on the top and another place to keep the cigars they are all slotted for ventilation I have currently 3 humidification devices 2 using PG and one not my one hygrometer is reading almost 70% (on the top) I pulled out the other one and it is reading 76% (on the bottom shelf) I know they are both right becuase I put the one from the bottom next to the top one and it was the same so my question is
1- will my humidity not travel between the top and bottem evenly even though it is slotted?
2- will the cigar oasis help me regulate this diffrence in humidity ( I :?: still didnt get it in the mail the est. date is the 9th)

To start, humidity will never be even throughout an entire humidor. The best you can to is circulate the air. That said, the oasis has a fan to circulate the humidity however it will only come on when the oasis does.

My suggestion is to go to the supermarket and pick up a battery operated Oust fan or two. Just put them in there (without the cartriges of course) and you should see a dramatic increase in RH stability.

BTW, don't aim the fans directly at exposed cigars. Cigars tend not to like that, proper humidity or not. Also if you plan on using a computer fan instead, DON'T use an LED one. The heat they put off is almost imperceptable to you, but in an enclosed space it can be a few degrees.
