HEY I AM NEW TOO SMOKING CIGARS...I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING IT AND READING THE FORM...I HAVE SMOKED A FEW ASHTONS AND A BACCARAT....I WAS HOPING SOMEONE COULD HELP ME ON TELL ME WHAT OTHER KINDS OF CIGARS I SHOULD TRY...I LIKED ASHTONS...WHAT ELSE ARE SIMLAR...SOMETHING MILD I AM LOOKING FOR RIGHT NOW....THANKS!

Hit your local smoke shop and buy a few singles of different kinds. I've had good luck with Romeo y Julieta Reserva Reals and one of my favs is a Flor de Oliva natural (and those are usually under $2.50 a pop). Keep records of what you smoke and you'll start to discover a pattern.
Good luck.

I never quite understood that one, it seems to me it just gives people something to bitch about. I suppose you can read into a post whatever you want. I ussually see a post like that and just figure someone doesn't no any better.

Short of taking my hat off when I come inside, and my spurs off when I come in the house I never cared too much about etiquette though. I figure those lessons stuck with me because my Mom hand one hell of a back hand.

Howdy Scarface!

I personally love the Flor de Oliva sticks, the Cigar.com Labels (Cameroon comes to mind), Montecristo White Label, Cusano C2. In my opinion, all good mild to medium sticks.

Welcome Scarface..

I would say hello to my little friend..the Cusano18 Robusto.

Has everyone forgotten about the Cusano 18????

This is a must buy if you like ashton. Hell it is a must buy if you like any cigars.

Welcome to the forum.

Don't let anyone tell you what is good or bad because it is a personal preference. When I started I went to my local shop and bought about twenty different singles from the likes of Romeo Y Julieta, Punch, Cohiba, Montecristo, Flor de Oliva, Padron, CAO, Partagas, and Saint Luis Rey. Don't be afraid to try house brands. There are often a lot of quality smokes at cheap prices.

sorry cowboy, i know im not a minority on this issue, ive been conditioned from reading so many forums over the years to read caps lock as yelling. in my head as im saying whats read in my head, i cant help but hear it as yelling in my head and its very annoying, its not just somthing to bitch about.

Kinda funny, since the smart a$$ comment, he hasn't been back.... Way to scare him off.

if comments like these scare him off, he wouldnt stand a chance at life.

LOL. Higgs, you remember how easy things can be taken the wrong way. Even though he didn't mean anything by it, I'm sure he is a little hesitant now.

When I started I would buy 2 of each brand I tried. Just to be sure I really liked or disliked it. Try any of the Cusano's, I really like the La Gloria Cubana"s for an everyday smoke. I go to JR's.com and buy 5 packs of brands that I've tried and liked, to give them a good test run. Welcome aboard!

Two of each is the best idea anybody can give you in my opinion. Also, use the cigar journal because otherwise after a while you'll have no idea what you've had, what you liked, what you didn't like, and then you'll have to start over and pay for cigars you really never liked in the first place.
