Does anyone have any experience with the new Cigar Oasis humidifiers with the built-in/integrated hygrometer? Living in VT keeping my sticks at 70% is an ongoing struggle this time of year. I have one of the older units in one of my humidors, and currently I move it back and forth between the two. Spending $100 for another one seems kind of pricey, but it they are really good I guess I don't mind. Anyone have any experience with them?

Got mine about 2 months ago - it works great. I am thinking of tossing in some heartfelt beads to supplement it because I have already run out of water due to the winter.

Is it like the old ones where you can pull the bottom off of it and refill it with distilled water. Not sure I'm supposed to do that with my old one, but it seems to work great.

I'd be happy to just get another of the old style if anyone knows where I can find one. It's just that this thing about switching them from one to the other is getting kind of old.

should be able to get one off ebay for around 50 bucks.

Nice to see a fellow Vermonter. I wish I had part of your problem. My humidor always runs a little high 68 to 74. I'm still working to get it down to 64-65. Try ebay, I have seen the older style there. good luck

Yeah, there's a guy there who is selling the older one -two listings in fact. I bid on one he has last week. But then I got an email from Ebay saying that they had suspended his account for suspicious activity and cancelled the auction. I notice that the exact same guy is back with a new account trying to sell the same thing twice. Looks weird so I'm staying away from that one.

Jesse52 -where you at in VT?

It is like the old model in that you can refill it. However you're not supposed to do that more than a few times as the foam inside of it contains an antibacterial/antifungal agent. Though I have heard of people using high proof liquor or the stuff you can get for aquariums. I love mine and would never go back.

Castle, is a crystal humidifier the same as beads? I can't seem to find bead to buy on-line. Although I'm probably looking right at them and not know that its them. Could you suggest a website thanks

Do you use the beads in the tube or do you buy bulk and use a glass to hold them?

i just put them in a smallplastic container then put some holes in the lid works well for me
