Does anyone know about Sinatra cigars? Do the "Frank's Way" cigars have better flavor than the Sinatra cigars? Which is better, the Robusto, or the Churchill? I'm new to this, as I am a collector of Sinatra memorabilia and I want to buy a box for my collection. A recommendation of a humidor would be helpful also. Thanks.

I've only heard bad things myself but to each his/her own. There really won't be too much of a difference between the churchills and robustos besides length. The churchills may be more harsh towards the end because of the extra length but then again both may be harsh all the way through.

As far as a humidor, is it for these cigars? Or do you want one for yourself? Its just a hard question to answer without knowing your intentions for it.

I plan on buying 3 boxes- one to display, one for a friend to display in his collection, and a third box to smoke (I can't just display them and not smoke them, can I?). Are there humidors that you can just put the cigar box and the cigars in the humidor, or is it mandatory that I take the cigars out of the box? (Pardon if that's a dumb question). The Sinatra cigars will be in a glass display case with all my other Rat Pack stuff. By the way, I've got some very cool Sands Casino ashtrays and I've got coming in the mail a gold
cigarette lighter that Frank gave to a friend as a gift.
Thanks for your reply.

You don't have to take the cigars out of their box for storage. I keep the majority of my smokes in their original boxes and have them in various cabinet humidors and a wine fridge that I converted into a humidor.

Since you say that one of the boxes will be for display purposes only you could even get away with just keeping them with your other memorabilia, although the thought of improperly humidified cigars makes me nauseous  .
If you're looking for something top of the line, there are several craftsmen in the U.S. who could custom build something for you. Maybe a cabinet which contains a humidified section for the cigars and the rest of the space to display your other collectibles.

I may locate a Sinatra humidor- there were a few unauthorized ones sold before the Sinatra estate shut them down. If you know of any, please let me know. I once bought a few cigars that I didn't wrap up in a ziplock, and they quickly turned green- the desert in Vegas isn't nice to cigars here- I learned my lesson. You guys have a very cool forum here-this forum doesn't beat up newbies- thanks for your patience-Ned

I went throught a "Sinatra Phase" a while back. The "My Way" selection is the better of the bunch. The all are very, very mild. I can't imagine Frank, himself, smoking any more than one or two of these cigars. They are what they are, a marketing thing.
They, however, should make a great addition to your collection.

ned, why don't you just smoke the cigars, and then put the empty box in your collection? It just seems like you will be going to a lot of work to keep a box humidified properly when it is just for display.

Sometimes a little Canadian logic goes a long way.

If you want to save the sticks and have a vaccuum bagger you can use that. Then just put the bags either back in the box or store it elsewhere. It will keep the sticks from deteriorating and then if you decide to smoke them, you can just humidify them.

Thanks for all the advice, guys!
By the way, I just talked to the guy that sold me the Sinatra lighter from the Sinatra estate and he said that the lighter was a gift Frank gave to a lady that he had a "rendezvous with" (naaawww, not Frankie!). Anyway, he said that the woman and Frank had an "encounter" back in the 1950's, and Frank recognized her at a concert 20 years later and Frank gave her the lighter as a gift. The funny thing is that she was married at the time of the 1st encounter, and at the second meeting, she confessed to her husband why Frank gave her the cigarette lighter. Her husband was not pleased to say the least. The gold lighter has engraved "THANKS", with Frank's signature on it. Now that's class!

Here's a light for all you guys- on me :soldier:

Ahh, another one bites the dust. I too will never go near those "things" again.

Crap is a very, very kind way to describe them.

I remember getting one from another member at our old golf course whom I had just given a really nice Cuban cigar too. He said that the Cuban was too dry and didn't compare to the "Sinatra" cigar.

Yes, that was the last time I gave him a cigar.
