Isn’t it great to have cheap tastes!

I just lit up a Cusano C2, you see cheap taste. No big deal I hear you say, however I live in the UK and therefore have easy access to many more expensive Cuban alternatives to my C2. In fact I have to Get the C2 shipped here and run the customs gauntlet with every order rather than simply smoke what I have available to me here.

My first real cigar was a Punch Churchill so I started out with high standards. But the last Pack of 3 Cohiba Siglo VI that I smoked left me with little more than a bad taste in my mouth and less well off.

Could it be that my over indulgence in cheap Dominicans has ruined my taste buds and uneducated my pallet? I would care if I didn’t take so much damn pleasure smoking these so called cheapies. I will have to see if I enjoy the box of Gurkha I have coming but one thing is for sure, I’m looking forward to the investigation.

How about you guys, confess, what’s your favourite secret cheap smoke when you think no one is looking at the band?

My fav cheap smoke?
National brand Nicaraguans.
under 2 bucks sometimes under 1.50...full body ...good burn...easy draw...nice taste.

I smoked quite a few Nicaro I think they were called. It was quite a few years back and they became quite more and more difficult to find. Couldn’t believe the construction and quality for what must have been one of the cheapest smokes in the shops. The Nicaraguans seems to be able to put out some good low end stuff.

If you get a chance...try one...
I don't care for any of the other Nationals...too light...but the red band nicaraguans have a nice kick.

I usually keep a bundle of Consuegra on hand for cheap smokes. I think Tiny Tim mentioned them in a thread a while back about cheaper smokes and I gave them a try. I can get them for around $1 - $1.25 a stick. I also like the Fuente Curly Head Deluxe, Fuente Exquisitos, and Padron Fumas for cheap smokes.

The Consuegra you sent me a while back was good...so was that fire corojo...whick reminds me....I need to get a few more of those fire's to try. Have you had the larger ring size in that cigar Dean? similar?

As long as you like the cigar- that's all that matters.
And,
Just because it's pricey doesn't mean it's better.
Smoke whatcha want and have fun!

(p.s. I love those Exquisitos!)

I haven't had any of the larger sizes of the Fire yet. I noticed that the shop I visit every couple of weeks had a couple of boxes of maybe churchill or toro size. I'll see if I can pick up a few next time I'm there and I'll send you a sampler.

My favorite all time smoke, not just cheap smokes, is of course, the Cigar.com Cameroon label. 20 sticks for 50 bucks.

BP sent me one of those C2's in a PIF. you make it sound so good, I think it will be the next up to meet my torch. Ha, ha , ha, ha, ha!!!

The torpedo is the one I smoke. You just can't beat the quality, construction and price of this cigar. I shouldn't have said it is my fav, but it is definitely my favorite go-to cigar. If you have never had one, PM me and I'll send ya out a Cameroon label and a Cuban label from Cigar.com.

I'm not afraid of people looking at the band because I always take mine off before I smoke the cigar. But my favorite inexpensive is the Flor de Oliva 10th Anniversario. That is followed by Rocky Patel's Reo, Vengeance, and probably Corojo Vibe which I haven't tried yet but looks fantastic. The Patels aren't real cheap at about 5 USD but they are on the low end of what I usually smoke.

I COULDNT AGREE WITH YOU MORE....I just got my box of Cuban label from Cigar.com and just got done trying one of them and all I can say is very very very impressive.....the first half inch was scary I thought it was gong to be too mild for me but it developed into a very tasty lil spicy stick that I will definatley buy more of....awesomely constructed look and feel (nice box too) all this for under 2 dollars

I wanna try the cameroons are they sweeter and smooth too?

cheep taste , dammmmm I never look at the price of a stick when I fire it up, owning a shop has it perks, I do smoke a lot of seconds, not for the price but I think why not, they taste just as good but no band to worry about, I do take off my band asap, whe i am in the shop I want to sell what ever I can , a lot of people are price buyers, so what ever price range that person is in, well that is what I am smoking at the time,, with out the band who can tell, , it is called salesmanship, & I do have the BS to pull it off ! hahahaha
Enjoy, Vince
