I can't wait! With minor tweaking of off season moves (Damon), and bringing in a few more starting pitchers (Dotel and Farnsworth), I am looking forward to see if the Yankees will pull it off this year. Although I am suspicious of the moves that Toronto made and the line up the Mets have, it will be a great year. I am heading down to Tampa soon for Spring Training. I can't wait to get out of the cold!

What does everyone think about the Baseball Classic starting in March??

I really wish I still liked baseball. I left when the strike happened, what about 10-12 years ago? I don't know why I never went back. It holds terrific memories for me having had it in the background everytime we visited my Grandpa. Plus my son was at his first double header when he was just 7 weeks old. We were bleacher bums at all the Oakland 'A"s games. My folks lived in AZ and we would go down for spring training as well. Yeah it was fun. Maybe I'll give it another look. Play Ball!!!! :p

(Another Canadian cheer)

OK BLUE JAYS!!

LETS GO BLUE JAYS!!

LETS......PLAY......BALL!!!!

Go Bluejays!!! By the way does anyone else ever get to see a real Blue Jay besides Canadians? The bird not the ball player?

I'm just not ready for it yet, man....

Football season is pretty much over for me - no offense Steeler and Seahawk fans but my team isn't there and I'm bummed....

Hockey season is full swing and the Blueshirts are doing well for once....

College Bball hasn't even hit March madness yet......

Daytona 500 in a few weeks......

I just can't get in the frame of mind for it yet.

ahh spring and baseball in florida i am lucky i live within about 50 miles of at least a dozen teams life is good :D :D

"The Blue Jay's range extends throughout deciduous forests, parks, and residential areas across eastern North America from Newfoundland to central Alberta, and south to Florida and eastern Texas. Mixed woodlands with oaks and beeches are preferred. The western edge of the range stops abruptly where the arid pine forest and scrub habitat of the closely related Steller's Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) begins. Recently, the range of the Blue Jay has extended to the Northwest so that it is now a regular but still-rare autumn migrant along the northern Pacific Coast. The popularity of bird feeding is thought to have promoted an increase in the population of Blue Jays in the Northeast."

There ya go! :p

Yes that would make sense, Blue Jays are very opturtunistic feeders. We have a couple of pairs that spends the spring in my neighborhood. They go somewhere else to have thier babys and then return in the late summer, staying untill fall in the family group, and then they head south for the winter.

There you go!

BASEBALL BASEBALL BASEBALL....Yankee baseball, god, I'm so happy its almost here. I've called the satelite company to make sure my baseball package is set up. As far as the World BBall Classic, I could care less. I just hope all the Yankee players don't get injured , so they can start the season off on the right foot.

USMC are you much of an autograph guy?? I've got a nice collection af autograph baseballs. I've always wanted to go to spring training. Some day I hope.

What in the NAME OF HEAVEN attracts people to professional baseball? I find it excruciatingly boring and full of personalities I find repulsive.

What am I missing?

I feel exactlyu the same way. I get tortured from March to October and even longer here in Red Sox country. Its all that I here about and I can no longer listen to any sports radio because of all the Sox yahoos. It sucks. I cannot stand basball. Any sport that puts me to sleep is not a sport in my opinion. Even people that like it admit to me that it puts them to sleep. Where is the excitement in that?

Now Football, there is a real sport!

See there, you should live in Kansas City... The Royals suck, so you don't hear too much about it..lol Thankfully we are getting a new areana football team this year, so it's football all year long!

Sorry about the threadjack! now you guys can back to talking about your baseball :D

the absolute worst though is Basketball....

now...the best sport??????

hands down...womens roller derby!!!! The only thing that could make it better is if they played in bikinis

I agree! Pro Basketball is a wretched "sport" that holds no redeeming value in my eyes. No attraction either. What's up wit dat?

Pro BBall stinks, I agree. But I love college - especially women's college Bball. That's the ticket!

Rollerderby - brings me back to being a kid Saturday mornings, eating cold pizza and watching Rollerderby with my dad. It was real, right?

Jesse,

Yes, I had started my collection of baseballs about a year ago. I have been collecting autographed prints and other stuff for about 5 years now. I got a mini Yankee museum in my house! I buy from http://www.steinersports.com

USMC I have a small shrine in my room. The buying of autographs have slowed down since I discovered cigars. I've diverted most of those funds to buying cigars. Let me know when you get to spring training, maybe you could get me a few autographs on a ball. I'm sure we could work out something. :) :) :)
