Good game.

I am glad that the Bus got to be a champ!!! Too many players don't get to win the big one.

Next year will be for the Bears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Coach Sgt. Slaughter, Westminster Abbey, The Tower O' Big Ben, The Bus, and Hines Ward, who in 2004 made his mark as one of the very best receivers in football, and now stands as the MVP of Super Bowl Extra Large.

 :wine:  :cheerschug: :birthday:

I would have posted sooner, but after the champagne toast, my friends and I celebrated with Monte #4s and Glenmorangie 18 yr scotch - and it's freakin cold out with the wind at my house

I am a fan of NEITHER team, I can state that I witnessed one of the worst officiated games in Super Bowl history. Even the ABC announcers pointed out at least 8 questionable calls and every one went against Seattle.

On every play, there is some kind of infraction that could be called if you went by the letter of the rules. Yet, it seemed that every call that could go against Seattle -- did. Can anyone name a single call that went against the Steelers that was questionable?

Seattle --- 7 penalties for 70 yds --- Pittsburgh 3 penalties for 20 yards. And take notice that not one single penalty was called against Pittsburgh in the second half.

you got that right mike, some one paid good money for that win.

I couldn't agree with you more. That was one of the ugliest officiated superbowls in a long time. But still, congrats to all you Steelers fans. It's been a while so smoke it up and enjoy!

I thought the officiating was the best the steelers have seen in the playoffs.

For not being a fan that sure was a lot of SOUR GRAPES Mike.

While Westminster Abbey, The Tower O' Big Ben was in the air, before the Seattle defender hit Big Ben's arm with his forearm, knocking it back, the ball DID cross the imaginary line going up from the front end of the goal line, and bisect the ball. The ball was over by a half inch to an inch. If you get a replay of that call, and run it to where Big Ben was in the air, then use a software program to draw a straight line up, it WILL bisect the ball.

TOUCHDOWN.

The Baby's on The Bus go wah, wah, wah,
Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah,
The wheels on The Bus go round and round,
Round and round, round and round,
The wheels on The Bus go round and round,
Alllllll through Steeltown. :neer: :neer: :cryinlaugh:

Although I do think the officating was spotty at best, it was a Steelers win for sure. Seattle made some aweful play calling throughout the game. Just when they would get up a nice head of steam with some good offense, they would try a long pass play to a guy that was covered too well, and miss it and killed the drive, even if it was the first down. When you are beating the defense with the dink and dunk plays; keep with it and wear them out. Don't let them start to feel good about stopping one big play. Also, how many times did they rush Alexander on 3rd and long. Just a dumb idea when your QB is getting a lot of time; even on the blitzes. And when you are down by 11 with 6 minutes left in the game and your defense has not had a rest, go for it on the fourth down. Their field position was not that bad if they did not get the first down, and if you do get it you have just beat the will of the defense and will have a better drive to try and get the points. The game was just poorly called by Holmgren.

I am glad that the Steelers won the game. The Bus deserved the ring, and any team that knocks off the Colts deserves to win the Superbowl in my opinion.

Tom --- I am a die hard football fan ---- just not a fan of the Seahawks or Steelers.

Anyone who has played or is a die hard fan knows that on each and every play there is at least one infraction that by the letter of the rules could be called on either team. Some are caught, some are overlooked some are missed. It just jumps out that only 3 were called on the Steelers in the entire game (and of those --- 2 were in the first 3 plays and none were in the second half).

I frequent alot of online forums, and in one sports one in particular almost everyone agreed (incuding Steeler fans) that the officiating was terrible and sort of tainted the victory for those fans.

Please reread MR Bloofington's Post. He is so elegant with his use of the English Language
