Winter in California

They say a cold air mass from Alaska has swooped down over northern California. NO KIDDING! I am a real candy arse when it comes to cold. I mean under 50* and I spend the day in the hot tub. I would much rather be hot and uncomfortable than cold and miserable. I put on my Carhart and long johns just so I could go out and smoke my cigar. Now the reason for this post.

In my opinion, a Maduro full bodied cigar is just wonderful in cold weather. Something about the richness and sweet after taste goes well with the cold. I also think the leathery aroma and feel somehow fits. I just love the the feel in my cold hand. I tend to smoke it too fast though when it's cold. Is it just to get back inside quicker? I dunnc. Oh I can't wait for summer. Bass boat, BBQ, camping, long days...........I'm 48 and I still dream like a kid.

So, is that =30, or -30. This week I would be glad to see it go UP to -30. Winter has come after a long and welcome absence. They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, how come that doesn't work for winter?

But you know I think your right about Maduro's that is about all I smoke right now - somehow that extra flavor just seems right in the cold!

Yep, it's down to the 40's in the southbay. Freeze my arse when I go to my car. These winds are killer freezing!

As I write this, it is currently 58degC at LAX, and I work within a block from there.

I really find it very intersting to hear about all the different weather where we all live. Sure, its cold here right now, but when its summer here, it is like no other place on earth, and I would not trade for anything. Oh, by the way, it warmed up today - only -15 Degrees C.

And I'm complaining about it being 75 in SF last week as opposed to 40's and 50's this week.
I heard on the news last night that earlier in the week it was in the 80's in Texas...and now it's in the 20's
I'd hate to be the guy that went out in his boxers to grab the morning paper from the driveway without checking TWC first

ahem...as a native New Yorker I frequently enjoy Whitetail season in the Catskills when the windchill makes it feel like 20 below, and don't mind waiting to get back to the cabin to use the bathroom for fear of freezing the extremities.
I just came out here because I prefer blondes

It has been in the single digits here. I'd like to get in a smoke, but it's been difficult.

I knew this was going to happen. My point was that we here in California are woosies when it comes to cold. I know I am. I buy rice and grains from a wonderful woman in Wisconsin and we talk all the time about the cold. I don't know how you all put up with it. BUT the real reason was still to comment on how much I prefer a full bodied rich maduro when it's cold out. Oh......Garlic goes well in the cold too. LOL Who loves ya baby?
