Okay I promised myself I would not post about it until I had a chance to smoke a second one to verify. But I was at the bar on Satuday and fired up a Matasa 30th Anni Toro. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this cigar, it is a nice aged blend that has a Dominican wrapper making it very rare and exclusive. Other Dominican wrapper cigars are few and far between and include the OpusX, Litoo Gomez Diez, La Aurora 100 Anos. That is pretty much it.

Anyway, the cigar got put through the compactor by Cigar Aficionado in the ratings but I have to say it was fantastic. I am going to smoke another on Friday to confirm, but I put it right up there with the Opus or any other super premium. Great draw and even better flavor. I may go as far as to say it was better than any other Dominican Wrapper (except for maybe a Cusano Prototype that is still in the mix).

Has anyone else had a chance to smoke this? Did I drink to much Fat Tire beer at the bar and this cigar actually sucks? I was vey impressed. Axe when I smoked it, I pinned it as something you would enjoy.

Has the sky fallen? Are pigs flying? Has hell frozen over? Is Alex pimping something I can't get from C.com? lol j/k. But I do have to ask where you got them, because I'd like to give them a try.

Yea , I want to try one , where did it come from & where do I go to get a few to try?

Enjoy, Vince

Oooooh, you have my attention :D
Post your results after the next one.
I've always had mixed results with Fonseca in the past, but this might be a hit.
I do love a Dominican wrapper

Same here. Now that you have my attention, is Cigar.com gonna carry them?

Hey Alex, maybe you could send out some samplers to us for a taste test. :D

(sorry, had to fill in for BP)

We have some at Cigar.com and I will put them up on the website later today. If you are dying for one now, you can call the 800 number and order one right away.

Axe, I agree about the mixed reviews on Fonseca. I really never liked much of his stuff, but this cigar really surprised me. I am going to try another one tomorrow to confirm.

Mmm...I with axe on this...Fonesca, not much luck, but I trust Alex's tastey buds unless the fat tire had laid them flat for these evenings!!

Do let us know Mr Svenson.
