REO Robusto= WOW

this stick was fantastic, i cannot say a bad thing about it

wrapper was gorgeous, great, uniform construction, burned completely even the whole way, no canoe, tunnel or relight needed, just perfect...

beginning was sweet sweet and quite mild, once the middle third came around it had a spicy, peppery flavor that i just hadnt tasted before, the pepper was just so prominent, from this point on the cigar was fairly one dimensional with the pepper continuing through till end but just getting fuller and stronger with each puff, by the nub- whoah this thing brought it, spice and pepper left in the palate like i just swallowed red pepper seeds

damn it was good...definate must try...and im buying more

anyway, got a vibe to try next and some diesels coming in that were reblended by rp

welcome to one of my favorites REO ...now if you havnt tried any Padron...check that out for a real treat.....some sizes are even cheaper than the REO and will rock your world

Never had one. I like the '90's and from the reviews I've read, I'm gonna have to try one. Or two, maybe three.
 
The deal right now on c.com for 90 and 92 RP segundo's is darn good...compare the value to the first's.....its a no brainer

now is the time to try premium RP sticks

hey doc, id love too, but the reo i had and the vibe i have are the only ones i got (got as a freebie in a recent order) and i havent had the vibe yet, that said, if you can get your hands on a reo and vibe it'd be great to get your thoughts...your a big rp fan too, no?

edit: doc, let me know if you wanna try the diesels, from what i understand, diesel was an older, not so great blend from a while back, and rp recently hooked up with them and reblended 'em...i havent had one yet but i got 5 off cbid

personally I would compare the sungrown and the connecticut to the cusano 18 and the c.com cuban label..... imo they taste very much alike
 
Had a Vibe robusto today...unfortunately wasnt that good...

little bit of spice and leather but went bland and dry, fairly bitter at about the 2/3 point which is when i chucked it...i may pick another up just for haha's and let it sit in the humi for a while and give it another shot, but all in all it didnt do much for me...

You were really right on in terms of the changes, although how and when it changes is really dependent on how you smoke it. The spicy characters you are picking up on are also very herbal. While the pepper is really on the front of the palate, it is not the only aroma there. If you draw it in fairly deep you will also pick up some faint hints of mustard seed in the nose and back of the throut with some slight florar and herbal undertones. But on the whole the a red and black pepper was especially prominant. Especially on the finish.

I experienced the same thing the first time. They get much better but should have been aged longer before shipping. Kinda surprising because Rocky and his guys are usually so meticulous about that. Maybe because he only makes them its not such a huge deal.

yeah, i definately saw some potential in the vibe, it had some moments of good taste, but would just fizzle to the bland, i wanna see if some humi time would help
