I sent out a PIF package last monday, and stupid me forgot to ask for the Delivery Confirmation Receipt. Is there any way for the Post office to find that package?? I'll send out a new package in a few days, but it just ticks me off that there are some really nice cigars floating around out there. Thanks

Give it a couple more days before you start to panic, they may just make it to where they are going - it has happened before!!

There is no way to retrieve a package once it is in the system, it just beomes one piece of mail among literally millions just like it.

Good luck buddy, but I really don't think you need to worry about it just yet.

Well i think its my fault i forgot to tell him the Apt #. What would they do with it? would they return to sender without a complete address. Im checking at the office in the morning man i hope they took it up there. They wouldnt know who it would belong to cause our apartment is in Rabeccas name. Ill let you know first thing in the mornin.

It depends what kind of letter carrier you have. Often these items are just returned, but if the mail man has an idea of where it is supposed to go, they will deliver it. At this point I would say it is likely going back to Gary, but we will see.

The regular carrier will have the families name at the top of the pull-out section of the delivery box. He will also know the name. Your only problem occurs when there are two or more families with the same last name in the same box. It is difficult to tell which S. Jones it is when Sam, Sonny, and Sarah all have the same address, but no apt. number.

I wouldn't worry about it, yet. As it's a package, if the people weren't home, it would have been notified, and taken back for them to pick up the next day. Priority Mail is also 3-5 days, working days.

If you haven't heard from them in 8-10 days, call the delivering office at about 8:30 AM, ask for the Delivery Supervisor, and he should be able to check on the carrier's disposition. Remember, a carrier delivers between 30-100 packages a day, so he may not remember. You could also run into his day off, as it varies route to route. Just call back the next day. :D

Not sure if it will help - but try calling your PO.
I live in a small town and my PO will go out of their way to help me.
But if it is in the unsure bin they may find it - if not it will eventually go back to where it came from.

OK heres what i found out. It wasnt at the office this morning so i called usps. They said it would be returned to the sender. Then i asked what if it didnt have a return address. They said it would be sent to the Atlanta mail recovery center. Did you put a return addy on there jesse? Sorry for all the trouble brotha.

Anytime anyone is sending cigars in the mail you can always use my address as the return addy - Thanks!

Yes I did put my return addy on it. I can't believe i forgot the tracking number thing. I'm sure it will show up either here or there in the next few days

The cigars are in a ziploc with a water pillow, and I packed them well, so when ever they arrive they will be in good shape.

really sorry for the confusion gary. I still forget to put down the apt number even when im writing it. Thanks for all the help buddy. :D
