we were originally gonna have a cigar roller at the wedding, but its just too much hassle and we dont want to put forth the effort to find one and what not...so now im gonna order up 4 or 5 boxes of some good quality sticks and let em rest in my humi for about 8 months...

im taking recommendations, anyone?

Pick stuff that you will not be pissed off if you see someone taking one puff and then tossing, because you know there will me more than one person who will like to "try a cigar" and fins out that they do no like them and toss it. Also, someone will be so drunk that they forget where they left their cigar and go grab 5 others in case they for get them again. I have a lot of respect for stick and wouldn't want to see people who don't usually smoke take advantage of the situation.

Man am I pessemistic.

I would go with the Flor de Olivia line. Good cigars that will not break your wallet, and you will not mind them being tossed early. I think most people will enjoy them. I also suggest the cusano m1 mc and p1, just pick your desired strength and enjoy.

yeah, im definately gonna have 4 or 5 different ones of varying strength/flavor/size and im definately going to "delete" about 4 sticks from each box before they get to the wedding if you know what i mean...im def gonna consider the cusano 18 (conn or paired maduro you think?), i was also considering the oliva master blends 2 possibly as another option, maybe some onyx mini belicoso's i dunno...

keep the suggestions coming!! :D

I like the cusano 18. I also like the 5 Vegas A. It does not cost too much but it may be too strong for some.

If you hit the powerball go with Opus X

These are my favs right now, Not expensive and a great taste.

are the onyx's "maduro-ized" the old fashionned way or are they dyed? every explanation i see on them says "blackenned connecticut broadleaf"...just curious if you knew

depends...how good is the sampler you sent me from the "fun and games" thread?

Hire a nice looking lady to hand them out - she could make sure that no one gets more than one or two. Maybe you have a neice or cousin that could do it for you.

I would go with the Flor do Oliva, I would bet c.com will give you a good price in quantity.

There you go!

I'll pass them Cusano 18's out for you. I'll make sure no one gets more than one.

If you have any left overs, and being the nice person that I am, I'll take care of it.

Unless you know a lot of the people well and know that they will enjoy a good cigar, I would have to agree with phish. When I provided the smokes at my sisters weding, I got Cusano 18's and Fuente 8-5-8's (50 of each) and it was sad to see good cigars wasted.

I'd also stick with less expensive smokes. They don't have to be machine made or short filler but maybe Flor de Oliva's like Phish suggested or cigar.com labels. Then for certain people keep a stash of the better smokes hidden away.

Some people have no class, even at weddings, so be careful. At my brother's wedding for instance a friend gave him a five finger case and some cubans. He left it at the head table and somebody swiped two of them.

I'd buy some Cigar.com Cameroons. Most everyone likes a DR, so why not make it inexpensive, and taste good?

thanks for all the suggestions guys, im budgeting roughly 500 for 4-5 boxes, as i do know most all of the people real well, theres gonna be about 200 guests and id guesstimate that a good amount of them do appreciate a good cigar and those who dont/wouldnt i cant envision taking one and trying it just for haha's unless they take one to just have and possibly give to someone at a later date, which is fine...if a handfull do get wasted- oh well, i guess there are worse things in life :D

right now im leaning toward the cusano 18's, joya de nic celebracions, punch rare corojo's, maybe something from the avo line, maybe lfd chisel, not sure yet though...im gonna look into those 8-5-8's too...

At a wedding you will have a cross section of people who will smoke anything you have, from a REAL Cuban to a Swisher sweet, if you want to satisfy every one you will need a cross section of smokes from Mild to full,, I would stay with one size through out a lonsdale or corona & I would go with a Factory second or a house brand to control cost , I hate to see a non cigar smoker take 2 puffs on a Graycliff & set it down or worse, BUTT it out . One other option would be to get a large box or 2 of a one hundred count box , if your looking for 8 boxes to set back for storage that is about 200 sticks , so 2 one hundred count boxes would do it , If you want to get a box like that , if your local cigar shop cant help you , drop me a PM or E mail, Enjoy, Vince

PSI, I would give a serious thought to Vince's offer. I'm sure he would be able to set you up with a nice assortment at a very good price. He does represnt a pretty good sized line and has a lot to chose from.

Vince, can I get a sampler for the plug? (shameless attempt at mooching off/)
