Favorite Lighter

Hey guys,

I am thinking of picking up a new lighter, and was wondering which one was the favorite of the Amback Mooches. I have a Prometheus single torch butane lighter, and I have been underwhelmed at it's performance. Unless I keep it near the lowest flame setting it torches up and will literally spew butane into the air that is then ignited. Kind of exciting, but not what I really want when I am trying to relax.

Again, thanks for the help.

I picked up a Solo butane lighter from Peretti's about 6 months ago and have been thrilled with its performance ever since. Cheap but great quality.

I have a Colibri Quantum Belmont and love it. Colibri catches a lot of crap for not being reliable but this cost 25 bucks on ebay and its never failed me in the 11 months or so I've owned it. I'm convinced that if you take care of your lighter (ie cleaning and using fuel that been refined at least 3 times) you'll be fine.

You might also want to look into S.T. Dupont's Xtend series. Great reviews on those. Xikar also came out with a light recently and they offer a lifetime warranty, so that might be something worth checking out.

As far as Torch lighter go (that fit in your pocket) the best I have found is the Dupont Extend - It has never failed me ever - the only problem I have had is lossing them.
Not a cheap lighter - but a good lighter.

A side note - My friend has them at an OK price & I saw he had some with the Opus Label etched in it that looks like your sig picture.
They were a little more money.

I have 2 i use all the time
Ecin Supra 24 $14.99 from Amazon
Colibri Cigar II $10.00 from JRcigars

The colibri hold a lot more fuel so I can get 5 to 8 cigars between refills. Sometimes more. The Ecin which is a better lighter holds less fuel and I can only get 2 to 4 cigars between refills, I really like both of these.

Z Plus for my Zippos. $10 and works like a Champ. Never use any of my others anymore.

ME 2 I have 2 Zippos with the Z plus inserts, I also have the Blazer orginal torch it is way old , & it is still the best lighter I have ever had, never had a misfire or a problem with it, back when i bought it , I think it was about 55 Bucks & I had more $$$ than brains then, even though I am broke now I still have more money that brains hahaha, , I carry the 2 Zippos all the time, the fuel resivor isnt the biggest & when you are with a bunch of moochers no one ever has a lighter so I carry 2 just so I dont run out of fire,
I alkso love this little disposable but refillable lighter that I sell in the shop for a buck each, it has a flint in it but you cant replace the flint with out breaking the lighter, so when the flint is gone you toss the lighter, I have had the same one almost a year now, the last one I had was over 2 years old & it was still working when I lost it !
my next lighter will be an other Zippo & a Z plus insert !
Enjoy, Vince
